Joe Gibbs Racing has released that driver Denny Hamlin has suffered a L1 Compression Fracture to his back following his wreck on the last lap of the Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway.

In a nutshell, here’s what you missed if you weren’t at Auto Club Speedway Sunday for the Auto Club 400:

Two-time Talladega Superspeedway NASCAR Sprint Cup Series winner Clint Bowyer, a noted Elvis Presley fan, says he’s ready to “Rock and Roll” and get to one of his favorite race tracks – Talladega Superspeedway – for the Aaron’s Dream Weekend, May 3-5.

NASCAR and Univision will make history on April 1 as “Arranque de Pasión, La Historia de Ela,” the first-ever sports-themed original project for the leading media company serving Hispanic America, debuts in the U.S. and Puerto Rico on Univision.com.

Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion team qualified third for the event with a lap of 38.472 seconds around the two-mile oval. However, the team had to move to the rear of the field at the start of the race for changing engines prior to qualifying.

For the second straight week Kurt Busch overcame double adversity to post a top-five finish. The Furniture Row Racing driver charged to a fifth-place result in Sunday’s Auto Club 400, which followed a fourth-place finish last week at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.

Race Highlights: Richard Childress Racing teammates finished eighth (Paul Menard), 13th (Kevin Harvick) and 17th (Jeff Burton).

Following a hard hit to the inside wall on the last lap of the Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway, Denny Hamlin will remain in hospital overnight for observation.

In what turned out to be the best finish in the history of Auto Club Speedway, Tony Stewart seems to have contracted situation amnesia. In the final restart Joey Logano, running second at the time, had to "peddle" the throttle to keep from beating leader Kyle Busch back to the line. Stewart who was lined up behind Logano, ducked to the inside and attempted to go three wide and have get a shot at the win.

ESPN did not broadcast the race from Fontana. That was a pretty good reason to watch on Sunday. After watching the Nationwide event Saturday, after hearing Allan speak an octave too high, after hearing Rusty speak at all, they brought in the dynamic Joey Logano for an extended stay in the broadcast booth.
