NASCAR Cup Series

David Gilliland always brings some extra speed to Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. This week, he's also bringing a new paint scheme. The No. 38 Ford will feature the brown and orange scheme of A&W Restaurants for this weekend's Food City 500 at the .533-mile oval.

Aric Almirola, driver of the No. 43 Farmland Ford Fusion, is currently 10th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings heading into this weekend’s annual Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Almirola was a guest on this week’s NASCAR teleconference and spoke about the start to his 2013 season.

Five-time Bristol Motor Speedway winner Jeff Gordon definitely liked the reconfigured surface at the World’s Fastest Half-Mile last August.

DEFENDING WINNER: While he doesn’t pick favorite racetracks, Brad Keselowski has quickly made Bristol Motor Speedway one of his best. He is the defending winner of the Food City 500, which marked his second-consecutive win at the half-mile. He is one of 12 drivers in Bristol history to win consecutive races.

Marcos Ambrose enters the weekend 16th in championship points and looks to move back up the point standings with a solid finish in the No. 9 DEWALT Ford at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. The No. 9 team posted a fifth-place finish last fall at the World's Fastest Half Mile giving the team confidence that they can come away with a solid top-10 finish this weekend.

Going into a new season, there's always pressure there to get off to a good start. However, when you're with a new team, the pressure is even twice as much. Matt Kenseth admits feeling that pressure when he made the move over to Joe Gibbs Racing. He wanted to be able to show Coach Joe Gibbs that he could live up to the expectations that he would win races and championships.

Watching yesterday’s Kobalt 400 from Las Vegas Motor Speedway, it appeared from the beginning that this was a race that was supposed to be won by Hendrick Motorsports. The lineup of Kasey Kahne, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. is formidable. What more could you ask?

Bristol, Tennessee is where the lads (and lassie) are venturing for this weekend's Cup action. Matt Kenseth arrives from Las Vegas with his birthday wrench and his 25th career victory. He has a pair at Bristol and most often leaves the place with a Top Ten finish.
