Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt Jr., emerged as early favorites to contend for Saturday’s Quaker State 400 title by making strong NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) practice showings today at Kentucky Speedway.

As my father used to say, "I’d have liked to have been a little birdie". We will probably never know what was discussed in that verbal intercourse between Jack Roush and his points-leading driver, Matt Kenseth. But whatever it was saw one of the best drivers in the sport head for Joe Gibbs Racing (or so they say).

Jack Roush, owner of Roush Fenway Racing, addressed the media Friday afternoon at Kentucky to discuss the announcement this week that Matt Kenseth would leave the organization at the end of this season and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. would be promoted to a full time Cup car in 2013.
