Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 99 Fastenal Ford Fusion, is still looking for his first Martinsville Speedway victory in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. He spoke to reporters after Friday’s first practice session to discuss his chances.

Michael Waltrip Racing announced today that it has added two more events to Brian Vickers’ 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup schedule in the No. 55 Toyota Camry. Vickers, who led 125 laps and finished fifth in his debut with MWR at Bristol Motor Speedway two weeks ago, will pilot the No. 55 at Infineon Raceway on June 24 and Watkins Glen International on Aug. 12.

Obviously, Bristol was a great weekend for us and I was just thankful to be a part of it. Ford driver Fred Lorenzen holds the record for consecutive victories in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Martinsville with four from 1963-65. Six other drivers have won three straight (Richard Petty, Cale Yarborough, Darrell Waltrip, Rusty Wallace, Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin).

I think if you look at the brake systems, certainly you’ve got to have everything pretty much perfect for this weekend.
