It's not too many times you get to come to a superspeedway race with really nothing to lose, but kind of a situation for us where we can go out there and just have fun and not worry about wrecking."

Carl Edwards enters Talladega with a five point lead over Kevin Harvick in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship. Edwards took time with media members following the first practice session Friday to discuss the lead, racing at the track and more.

Jimmie Johnson is in an unaccustomed position a week before the TUMS Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Not only is he not leading the NASCAR Sprint Cup points, there are six other drivers between him and leader Carl Edwards.
