NASCAR Cup Series

Kansas Speedway announced today that Valory Music Co. recording artist Brantley Gilbert will perform Sunday prior to the Hollywood Casino 400. Gilbert's latest hit, "Country Must Be Country Wide" is currently 12th on the Billboard Country Music chart.

Denny Hamlin battled an ill-handling race car throughout last Sunday’s race and finished 18th at Dover (Del.) International Speedway in Round 3 of the 2011 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship.

Kevin Harvick, driver of the No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet, enters this weekend's Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway as the leader in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

Jeff Gordon, No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet, met with members of the media at Phoenix International Raceway following the first day of testing:

Biffle on Kansas: “Kansas is a unique track that I have always enjoyed racing at. I think I enjoy it because I’ve run well there. We were able to win there last year and finished third there the two years before that."

In spite of the monstrously cloudy skies that yielded a bit of drizzle throughout the race, every lap of the AAA 400 was completed at Dover International Speedway.

Edwards finished third at Dover, leading 116 of 400 laps, and gained a share of the Sprint Cup point standings. Edwards is tied with Kevin Harvick atop the standings, with a nine point lead over Kurt Busch and Tony Stewart.

Dover International offered a nice respite from the cookie cutter mile and a half tracks, but the winner was a surprise, at least to me.
