Like you said, you can always get to somebody at Richmond, so payback is usual one of those places you circle Richmond is one of them. We will be aggressive when we get there.”

That is what everyone labels this team as, which is fine with us. We will do our own thing. I don't think it gives us any extra motivation. The motivation is there. ALEX BOWMAN, NO. 88 NATIONWIDE/AXALTA CAMARO ZL1, met with members of the media during Playoff Media Day. Select Quotes: WHERE DID THIS WHOLE ROOKIE THING COME FROM? DID EVERYONE FORGET ABOUT THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY RUN CUP BEFORE? “No, it’s just been a joke on Twitter all season. So, I’m just committing to it. I think it’s pays if you win Rookie of the Year, so I’m trying to beat William (Byron) for that. I think we are ahead of him in it right now. But, not, it’s just been a joke. Some people on Twitter really don’t get it and it’s really funny, but I actually got asked today what it’s like to be the first rookie to ever make the Playoffs. As a serious question, which I don’t know where that came from. That is… other rookies have made the Playoffs to begin with and I’m not a rookie. Somebody was reading Twitter and took it to be fact way too much.”

IF YOU DON’T, HOW WILL YOU VIEW THE 2018 SEASON? “It would be a disappointing year if we didn’t win a race. I’ve set a high bar to win since my rookie year, so winning a race seems like something we should be able to do. If that doesn’t happen, I’d certainly be disappointed. I do know that we have not left anything on the table and poured everything we can into it. Not that it would be satisfying on every level, but making sure we acknowledge the effort that went into it and not beat ourselves too hard on it. But I certainly hope that doesn’t happen.”

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will be in action at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Monster Energy Series begins its first round of playoffs, while the Camping World Truck Series has its second race of the Round of 8 and the Xfinity Series sets its playoff field. Check out the full schedule below, which is subject to change.

Paul Menard and the No. 21 Menards/Aquafina team won’t be a part of the Monster Energy Cup Series playoffs as they had planned. But that doesn’t mean they won’t be racing just as hard over the final 10 events of the 2018 season.
