Austin Dillon Battles Adversity, Grinds Out a 13th-place Finish "Our No. 3 Dow Chevrolet was decent all day. The balance felt good for most of the race, but would tighten up in Turn 3 every now and then, so I had to really focus on my entry and exit in that corner. One of the biggest challenges was the heat. By lap 28, it felt like my A/C unit overheated or something and from there I had no air conditioning. I was alright during most of the race, but that red flag was just miserable."

Ryan Blaney passed Kyle Busch in the closing laps of the Axalta Pocono 400 and held off Kevin Harvick for the rest of those closing laps to win for the first time in his career at Pocono Raceway.

I would have liked to finish better, obviously; I just didn’t get the best restarts. Kyle Busch topped the chart in final Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practice at Pocono Raceway.

LONG POND, Pa. — Running his fastest lap of the day in the final round of Friday’s knockout qualifying, Kyle Busch won the pole position for Sunday’s Axalta presents the Pocono 400 at Pocono Raceway (3 p.m. ET on FS1) by a comfortable margin.

DARRELL WALLACE JR. – No. 43 Smithfield Ford Fusion – “That one will take a smile off your face. That’s just the competitive nature. I definitely wanted to make the third round, and I think we had enough speed in it, and it’s just me of knowing that you pick up speed every run. I knew that going into it. We talked about it right after we climbed out from the first run, but you get so fixated on those XFINITY cars and those things are all about momentum, so I was just kind of waiting for that thing to turn and get down to the bottom and get it all pointed, and I didn’t muscle it up. I just kind of got lazy with it. "

KYLE LARSON, NO. 42 TARGET CHEVROLET SS – Qualified 7th - ON HIS QUALIFYING EFFORT: “The first round was really good for us. Our Target Chevy drove really nice. I didn’t even feel like I was driving hard. So, the second round I tried to get a little more and I just got loose into (Turn) 1 and screwed up my whole lap. And then, the third round there I backed my entry up into (Turn) 1 and still got loose in but was able to get to the bottom and then I just got really tight off of (Turn) 1 and it killed my lap. Turns 2 and 3 are pretty good, but I just killed it there in Turn 1.”

In 2015, Martin Truex Jr. went from longtime journeyman to a breakout contender with a win at Pocono Raceway. In 2016, he went from breakout contender to legitimate championship contender, achieving his first multi-win season of his career. He shows no signs of slowing down this season after 13 races.

MARTIN TRUEX JR., No. 78 Furniture Row/Denver Mattress Toyota Camry, Furniture Row Racing - How confident are you coming into the race weekend at Pocono? “Definitely have some confidence coming here to Pocono. It’s a really good track for us the last few years. Last year we had a couple really strong cars here and if I remember right, we had a lugnut knock the inner valve stem off both races."
