A super finish for "Superman" was had on Sunday at the Auto Club Speedway. Here is what was surprising and not surprising from the 20th annual Auto Club 400.

Not since his rookie year of 2013, has Ricky Stenhouse Jr. had such a consistent start to the Sprint Cup season.

Jimmie Johnson was up front when it counted at the end of the race to score his 77th career victory in the Sprint Cup Series. With it, he moved past the late Dale Earnhardt and took sole possession of seventh-place on NASCAR's all-time wins list.

Kyle Larson walked away from a scary wreck in the early stages of today's race in Fontana. Hurtling down the backstretch, the driver of the No. 42 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet cut down his left-rear tire, turned into the outside wall, turned down the track and slammed the wall head-on.

A solid run at Auto Club Speedway ended with a trip to the garage for Greg Biffle. Biffle started the race 22nd and was making gains on the track when something went amiss with his No. 16 Ford EcoBoost Ford, ultimately sending him to the garage where it was determined their day was done leaving Biffle with a 37th-place finish.

Jimmie Johnson may not be faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, but he was up front when it counted and scored the victory in the Golden State.

Trevor Bayne powered his No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion inside the top 15 for much of the day before a flat right-rear tire relegated him to a 20th-place finish in Sunday afternoon’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) event at Auto Club Speedway

KEVIN HARVICK, NO. 4 JIMMY JOHN’S CHEVROLET SS – FINISHED 2ND - WHAT HAPPENED ON THE FINAL RESTART? “That was the worst it has taken off on restarts, but we weren’t very good on restarts for four or five laps unless we were all by ourselves. The No. 48 was able to hang with us and we just weren’t able to drive it in like I needed to, just didn’t’ have the front tires turning and the back wouldn’t grip. Still a good day for us, just have to thank everybody from Jimmy John’s and Busch. We will keep at it.”

GREG BIFFLE – No. 16 EcoBoost Ford Fusion – “We’re not really sure. It might be something in the engine. It started smoking a little bit there and it was down on power, so we figured we would just bring it in and take a look at it before we break something out on the race track.
