NASCAR Cup Series

Trevor Bayne will make his third career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start at Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend. In two previous starts at the 1.5-Mile oval, Bayne recorded a best finish of 16th in Sept. 2012.

NASCAR’s annual visit to suburban Atlanta is on tap this weekend as all three major touring series compete at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Ford has registered 30 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series wins at the 1.5-mile facility and will try for its first triumph since 2008 on Sunday afternoon. Here’s a look at Ford’s history in Hampton, GA.

With all three of NASCAR’s national touring series set to descend on Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 weekend just days from now, drivers looking ahead to the races have described AMS in many different ways. It will be kind of based off of what tire Goodyear brings. If it’s a soft tire that’s got a lot of speed initially, it’s really going to wear off. If it’s a little bit harder, maybe it doesn’t fall off as much.”

Martin Truex Jr. and his younger brother Ryan have shared many racing highs and lows over the years. But this weekend the two shared a major accomplishment, finishing runner up in their respective races at Daytona International Speedway.

Martin Truex Jr. was edged by Denny Hamlin at the checkered flag in the closest Daytona 500 finish in history. Hamlin’s margin of victory over Truex was 0.010 seconds, less than one foot. The runner-up finish was also a career best in 12 Daytona 500 starts for Truex.

Driver Regan Smith delivered an 8th place finish in the Golden Corral No. 7 Chevrolet at today's Daytona 500. That means Kids Eat Free tomorrow, February 22nd, at Golden Corral restaurants across the country.

Chase Elliott's hopes of bringing the Harley J. Earl Trophy back with him to Dawsonville, Ga. came to a halt not 50 miles into the race.
