Tom Higgins, longtime reporter and Squier-Hall honoree, dies at 80

Tom Higgins, who told the stories of stock-car racing for decades as a reporter and author, has died. He was 80. Among his many accolades, Higgins was the 2015 recipient of the Squier-Hall Award for NASCAR Media Excellence. He had been in declining health since suffering a stroke last year.

Rock N Roll Tequila Named Title Sponsor of NASCAR Xfinity Series Race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course

Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course today announced a new title sponsor for the upcoming NASCAR Xfinity Series race event on August 10-11, 2018. Rock N Roll Tequila will hold this entitlement as well as being named the official tequila of the facility as part of a three-year agreement.

JR Motorsports Makes Crew Chief Change on No. 5 Team

GMS Racing announced today that AfterShokz, the bone conduction headphone brand known for prioritizing situational awareness and comfort through its unique open-ear design, will be an associate sponsor on the No. 23 ISM Connect/AfterShokz Chevrolet Camaro at Watkins Glen International in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) Zippo 200. In addition to the team welcoming AfterShokz on board, they also announced that NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series (NMECS) driver, A.J. Allmendinger will fulfill the No. 23 entry along side with Justin Haley that will be in the No. 24 for the Statesville-based team.

Briscoe Battles Back to Top-10 Finish at Iowa

Roush Fenway Racing driver Chase Briscoe fought his way back onto the lead lap and to a 10th-place finish in the waning laps of a double-overtime finish in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Iowa Speedway. Briscoe and the team struggled early with a loose car and fell back to a far as 20th position, before picking up seven positions in the final 50 laps of the 250 lap scheduled race. The finish is Briscoe’s second straight top-10 in the No. 60 and his third of the season.

Reed Crosses the Finish Line 7th at Iowa Speedway

Ryan Reed drove his way to a seventh-place finish Saturday afternoon at Iowa Speedway in his No. 16 Drive Down A1C Lilly Diabetes Ford Mustang. Reed started 19th, spent a majority of the race as a factor within the top 10 and avoided late race cautions to earn his career-best finish at the 0.875-mile track.
