Davis, owner of JD Motorsports with Gary Keller, one of the NASCAR garage’s most established teams, announced Tuesday that Ross Chastain, Garrett Smithley and Harrison Rhodes will drive the team’s Chevrolets in NASCAR’s No. 2 series this season.

Rheem, Menards and Richard Childress Racing (RCR) are committed to championing the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) charge to be the series where "names are made," and each have long histories of supporting aspiring drivers from local short tracks to NASCAR's feeder series.

Twisted Tea, the No. 1 maker of hard iced tea in the United States, has partnered with Ty Dillon, Germain Racing and Richard Childress Racing (RCR) in a multi-year agreement to be primary sponsor of the No. 13 Chevrolet SS. Twisted Tea will serve as primary sponsor for select races during the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season along with an associate sponsorship for the entire 2017 season with RCR's No. 3 XFINITY Series team.

JR Motorsports and Pinnacle Foods’ Armour brand have agreed to a multi-year partnership extension, the team announced today. A JRM partner since 2014, Armour will have primary branding in four races with Elliott Sadler and the No. 1 team in each of the next two NASCAR Xfinity Series seasons.

They say history tends to repeat itself and in the case of 2000 NASCAR XFINITY Series champion Jeff Green, the 2017 season will sort of have a throwback feel for him.

During Monday's announcement by NASCAR regarding the format changes for 2017, everyone from fan to competitor to media member was ready to fly into an outrage. Solid evolutionary changes have not been the sport's bread-and-butter in recent years, although some changes have since been accepted, like the Chase playoff format and the "Lucky Dog" rule.

Virginia roots run deep in NASCAR, and Gray Gaulding and BK Racing continue that tradition. At a press conference today at Richmond International Raceway (RIR), BK Racing announced Colonial Heights, V.A., native Gaulding as the driver of the No. 23 Toyota Camry in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series for the 2017 season. The announcement was made at Gaulding and BK Racing’s home track in Richmond.

Monday’s NASCAR announcement about the new format for NASCAR Camping World Truck, XFINITY and Monster Energy Cup Series season was not only unusual, but might just be the most extraordinary thing that’s happened to the sport since the announcement that the championship would be based on the last 10 races of the season—the Chase.
