Starting today, Aug. 11, until Sept. 1, fans can visit NASCAR.com and vote for their favorite special paint scheme that will race in the 67th running of the Bojangles’ Southern 500.

“Every lap of experience is important for me on these new tracks,” Preece said. “We didn’t get to finish at the Glen last week. We’ll have a better, stronger car at Mid-Ohio. We’re looking for a big weekend.”

“I had a pretty good run at Mid-Ohio last year, and we’re looking forward to building on that this year,” Chastain said. “Road racing is fun – something very different for us. I can’t wait to get there and give it another shot.”

In last week’s Xfinity Series race at the Watkins Glen International road course, Smithley ran only 13 laps before parking his Chevrolet with overheating issues. This Saturday, he hits the road again at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in the Mid-Ohio Challenge.

Since its inception in 2014, the revamped Chase format in the Sprint Cup Series has featured electrifying drama in the season-finale championship race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Starting in 2016, the same thrill and excitement of the Chase will be implemented in the XFINITY and Camping World Truck Series, marking the first time in NASCAR history that the Championship 4 from each division will compete for their respective crown during Ford Championship Weekend.

Dakoda will be making his third career NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. He has a best finish of 10th at the 2.4-mile road course which came during the 2014 event.

Joining the celebration to honor history at Darlington Raceway, Kaulig Racing™ will don the usual LeafFilter™ green, this time with a twist, paying tribute to Darrell Waltrip's 1981-82 No. 11 Mountain Dew Buick Regal during the NASCAR XFINITY Series VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200, September 3rd.

In 10 Series starts at the 2.25-mile road course, RCR has accumulated three top-five finishes, four top-10 finishes, led 51 laps and averages a starting position of 8.8 and finishing position of 13.0.
