Corvette Racing’s Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen won their second straight IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GT Le Mans (GTLM) Driver title Saturday, and in true Corvette Racing fashion it was a team effort.

Corvette Racing found itself in prime position halfway to challenge for a race victory and championship through the 10-hour Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta in the final race of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season. The No. 3 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C7.R – the GT Le Mans (GTLM) Championship leader – ran fourth following a restart at the five-hour mark, just ahead the No. 4 sister Corvette.

Corvette Racing’s Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen will start their race toward a second straight IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship title from the front row of their category following qualifying for Saturday’s 10-hour Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta.

Hard to believe it's been nearly 20 years since the Championship Auto Racing Series (CARS) ran exciting, wheel to wheel stock car races on short tracks around Indiana. This series was distinct from and should not be confused with today's southeastern CARS series that descended from the old Hooters ProCup series.

Tyler Ankrum clinched the 2018 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) Championship over the weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Ankrum's 50-point lead over Tyler Dippel allowed him to seal the deal before the season finale at Dover International Speedway.

The two-pronged Sexton/Gatlin Racing Team managed seventh and 12th place finishes when the USAC/California Lightning Sprint Car Series visited the Bakersfield Speedway on September 8th. It was family patriarch Brent in the seventh spot in the 20-lapper with his 14-year-old son Grant 12th.

With a second-place finish in the first of the twin 75-lap NASCAR Late Model Stock Car Division races that headlined Saturday night's GCR Presents Spaulding Equipment Company NASCAR Late Model Twin 75s racing program and a win in the nightcap, the Danville, Virginia resident earned his third South Boston Speedway track championship in five years and his fourth career South Boston Speedway NASCAR Late Model Stock Car Division championship.

Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) development driver Thad Moffitt will make his Team Chevy racing debut start this Friday night at the short track in Clermont, Indiana, just miles from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Moffitt will compete in the ARCA Racing Series Shore Lunch 200 and is hoping to better his 11th-place finish last year. He's also wanting to collect another Top-10 after finishing 10th at the Toledo Speedway earlier this year in ARCA competition.
