Matt Kenseth and his Roush-Fenway Racing teammate Greg Biffle ran strong for most of the day.with Kenseth leading three times for a total of 12 laps. After a a poor start in the Chase, this strong run was just what they needed to regain some momentum for the remainder of the Chase.
Hendrick Motorsports driver, Kasey Kahne turns the fast lap of 191.455 mph, to edge out Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) driver Ryan Newman by only .061 sec. to score the pole for Sunday's Good Sam Roadside Assistance 500. This was Kahne's third pole of the season.

Definitely wasn't what I expected, but it sure feels good to get a pole here. Our car was really strong in race trim and really wasn't all that good in qualifying trim. Hopefully, this is a good sign of things that will give us a strong run here on Sunday.” Hamlin said.
Earlier this week Denny Hamlin told everyone via Twitter that he would win this week’s Sylvania 300 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The proclamation came after a disappointing finish in Chicago where he ran out of gas and lost valuable positions in the chase for the Sprint Cup.
Jeff Gordon captured the pole for Sunday’s Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with a lap of 134.911 MPH (28.230 secs). This was Gordon’s second pole of the season.
Brad Keselowski wins the opening race for the chase on Sunday at Chicagoland Speedway. Keselowski held off Jimmie Johnson during the final 35 laps and won his fourth race of the season, eighth of his career and the first at Chicagoland.
Jimmie Johnson captured the pole for Sunday’s GEICO 400 at Chicagoland Speedway with a lap of 182.865 MPH (29.530 secs). This was Johnson's second pole of the season and 27th of his career.
Following weeks of build up and anticipation, the NASCAR Spring Cup Series arrived at Richmond International Raceway on Saturday night for the final race before the Chase for the Championship.
