After a caution flag flew late in Saturday’s “Use Your Melon Drive Sober 200” NASCAR Xfinity Series playoff race, in the middle of Dover International Speedway’s 50th Anniversary celebration, those dreams turned into golden reality.

After winning twice the decade before, Dale Earnhardt showed his sheer domination at Talladega Superspeedway in the 1990s, bookending the 10 years by being on top. And, it just wasn’t in NASCAR’s premier series.

Talladega Superspeedway announced today that McDonald’s will serve as the presenting sponsor of the traditional Saturday Night Infield Concert (Oct. 12) featuring Alabama’s own Riley Green and Tyler Braden, part of the track’s upcoming NASCAR Playoffs weekend. McDonald’s will also sponsor the Big One LIVE Music on Friday evening with country artist and singer-songwriter, Tim Dugger.

It was only fitting that Buddy Baker, who at 6 feet 6 inches tall was a giant of a man, would have success at NASCAR’s biggest, baddest track – Talladega Superspeedway.

When the design for Talladega Superspeedway began to take shape in NASCAR founder Bill France’s mind in the late 1960s, he wanted something a little different.

NASCAR fans can try regional-themed food selections ranging from scrapple to seafood as part of Dover International Speedway’s 50th Anniversary celebrations and then wash it down with local beer offerings as part of a collaboration with Delaware on Tap.

To say that Talladega Superspeedway’s upcoming NASCAR Playoffs doubleheader weekend (Oct. 11-13) is going to be one fans won’t want to miss would be an understatement. With the Grand Opening of the all-new Talladega Garage Experience, plus the historic track’s celebration of its 50th anniversary with Hall of Famer Richard Childress leading the field in pre-race laps driving Dale Earnhardt’s famous black No. 3, it is going to be one for the books. And, with the event being a few days away, this is the final chance for fans to save up to $10 off on tickets before race week pricing goes into effect on Monday, Oct. 7 at 8 a.m. CDT.

In Friday’s Bojangles’ Qualifying, William Byron won the pole for Sunday’s Bank of America ROVAL™ 400 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL™; Alex Bowman was second with Joey Logano third, Jimmie Johnson fourth and Clint Bowyer fifth
