NASCAR notified teams this afternoon in all three national series that they have made some modifications to the knock-out qualifying procedure.

NASCAR notified its teams this afternoon that effective immediately the following modifications apply to all elements of its national series qualifying including the breaks:

“I’m pleased to say that I’ll be back in a ThorSport Tundra for the Kroger 250 in three weeks. ThorSport has given me a great opportunity and I appreciate everything they have done for me and my family,” Burton said Thursday morning in a press conference at Martinsville Speedway.

NASCAR has reinstated Ryan Hess, a former crew member in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, and Curtis Martin Jr., a former crew member in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, upon their successful completion of NASCAR’s Substance Abuse Policy Road to Recovery Program.

The draft can be the great equalizer and sometimes leads to producing some special results for some drivers that fans do not normally hear about finishing up front. That happened last month with the NextEra Energy Resources 250 as Jimmy Weller brought his No. 08 Geneva Liberty Steel/Engine Parts Plus Chevrolet home in the ninth position.

They say that as much as things continue to change, other things stay the same. That saying will look to play truth in the Camping World Truck Series this year as even while there are some new faces in the mix, the same team will rise to the top to claim the driver's championship.

Brennan Newberry's story started very similar to a lot of drivers, but Brennan himself wasn't the typical young aspiring driver. They lived in Bakersfield, California where his father drove late models, so Newberry as a young boy was around racing from the very start but at first he wasn't thinking about driving, he was more into showing off the car in the garage to his friends.

As the field came to the checkered flag for the Camping World Truck Series NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway, Kyle Busch was behind Timothy Peters and looked as if he'd come up short on the win once again. However, as he called it, he "kind of of threw a Hail Mary out there" and pulled to the outside of Peters.

Matt Crafton opened the defense of his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers' championship with a low-key 13th-place run Friday night in his No. 88 Fisher Nuts / Menards Toyota Tundra in the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway.

Ben Kennedy, the great-grandson of NASCAR founder Bill France, Sr., sat on the pole and made his first laps of competition around Daytona International Speedway, ultimately finishing 15th in the 100-lap NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) event.
