Timothy Peters and the Valvoline/Express Oil Change team came within 0.016 seconds of victory in the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway, finishing second in the narrowest margin in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series history at the 2.5-mile facility.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) began its 2014 season on Friday night at Daytona International Speedway (DIS). The weekend began with three practice sessions, one on Wednesday afternoon and the final two on Thursday. Hornaday and the No. 30 Rheem Comfort Products Chevy Silverado completed the first practice session in the second position, something that would prove worthwhile come raceday due to unfortunate weather.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series 2014 season began with an astounding photo finish between Timothy Peters and Kyle Busch. Tonight the trophy will be given to ‘Rowdy’ who made an outside pass on Peters to snatch the win by only 0.017 hundredths of a second.

In 17 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts at Daytona International Speedway, Red Horse Racing boasts two wins (Timothy Peters in 2010 and John King in 2012), five top-five and seven top-10 finishes. The Mooresville, N.C.-based organization has an average starting position of 19.2 and 13th-place average finishing position. RHR teams have completed 1,628 of 1,735 (93.8 percent) laps of competition and 24 led.

For the first time in the 2014 season, the Camping World Truck Series hit the highbanks of the Daytona International Speedway for practice. At the end of the first session, it was a rookie topping the charts.
