Setbacks in Sardinia for Veloce Racing

After leading the Extreme E standings heading into the Island X Prix double-header, Veloce Racing left Sardinia third in the championship after a difficult weekend in Italy. Despite showing pace throughout, misfortune out on track ensured Kevin Hansen and Molly Taylor were unable to appear in a Grand Final in either Round. The British outfit, however, is just 14 points off the championship leaders, ACCIONA | SAINZ XE Team, going into the remaining four races of 2023.

After showing good pace in Free Practice, Veloce Racing were up against it immediately in Round 5 Qualifying after suffering a puncture in their initial Heat, ensuring they could only finish fourth. A race-long scrap in their Q2 Heat with X44 Vida Carbon Racing ensued, but third place was not enough which ensured a spot in the Redemption Race.

A victory there, just over a second ahead of NEOM McLaren Extreme E Team, secured valuable points for Hansen and Taylor heading into the following day’s racing.

It looked like there would be no stopping the team’s upward momentum after victory in their opening Qualifying Heat of the day in Round 6. However, hopes of a Grand Final appearance in Sardinia were dashed after finishing fifth on course in Heat 2 after incurring damage.

Veloce Racing missed out on the Grand Final thanks to No. 99 GMC Hummer EV Chip Ganassi Racing setting a quicker Continental Traction Challenge time, after being equal on points in the Qualifying classification standings.

Veloce Racing finished third on course in the resulting Redemption Race, but were promoted to second after penalties were applied to last year’s champions X44 Vida Carbon Racing. Seventh overall banked more points for the team while, in such a tight fight for the championship, that extra point for a Qualifying Heat victory in Round 6 could prove crucial prior to the remaining two X Prix of 2023.

Kevin Hansen, Veloce Racing, said: “We must regroup and review the weekend, because unfortunately we were unable to get the results that our pace deserved. There is a confident mood in the camp and we’re already looking forward to the next event.”

Molly Taylor, Veloce Racing, said: “We had the speed, and we know we have the team and car to fight at the front, but it didn’t all come together to win this weekend. Nevertheless, we have scored some solid points, the title fight is close, and we will come back stronger at the next one.”

Veloce Racing entered the Island X Prix as the pacesetters, having taken two wins and three podiums in Season 3 prior to Rounds 5 and 6 of the campaign.

Despite not reaching a Grand Final across the weekend, the team remains in touching distance of top spot just 14 points behind new leaders ACCIONA | SAINZ XE Team.

Daniel Bailey, CEO of Veloce Racing, said: “It’s about maximising your points haul when things don’t quite go your way, and we did exactly that. But for the puncture we believe we would have competed for honours again in the Grand Final in Round 5, but by winning the Redemption Race we have scored some important points in the overall race for the championship.

“On the second day we were unable to turn our speed into the right results. We have had a very good season so far and won’t let the challenges of this weekend distract us from our overall goals.”

Joe Graf Jr. Quoteboard:

On Pocono Raceway: “I’m excited to return to Pocono Raceway. I haven’t been to the track since 2021, but I feel really good about returning and contending for a strong finish with our No. 38 CoverSeal® Ford Mustang.

“I have not had the best luck in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, but I have a bunch of top-10 finishes in ARCA. They don’t call Pocono the “Tricky Triangle” for nothing, but its unique track characteristics and one I enjoy racing at.

“Last weekend at New Hampshire was a positive weekend for me and my career even though we did not have the finish we should have earned, but I’ll look to complete that with my RSS Racing team on Saturday afternoon.”

On The 2023 Season: “We started the year off really strong between RSS Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing, but unfortunately we’ve been on a rollercoaster throughout the season.

“I know we just have to survive this stretch of unique races which includes a street course, a hybrid superspeedway, a flat track, a fast track and another road course. Hopefully in-between all the different types of tracks we’ll find a rhythm that will allow us to continue to accelerate in a positive direction.

“I just need to continue to stay focused, communicate with my team and utilize the knowledge that I’ve gained over the past three years to recover and have my best Xfinity Series season yet.”

Jason Kitzmiller; A.L.L. Construction Racing Return to ARCA Action at Pocono Raceway

LONG POND, Pa.: Back on the ARCA Menards Series scene for the first time since Kansas Speedway in early May, veteran driver Jason Kitzmiller and his A.L.L. Construction Racing team invade Pocono (Pa.) Raceway for Friday afternoon’s Sunset Hill Shooting Range 150 hoping for a reset on their 2023 season.

Running a limited schedule in the ARCA Menards Series division has certainly presented the opportunity for Kitzmiller and his Todd Myers-led team, but with two DNFS (did not finish) at Talladega Superspeedway and Kansas Speedway, the North Carolina team is looking for a little luck at the “Tricky Triangle.”

“It is going to be nice to get back to the track this weekend at Pocono, I just hope we have a little luck to go with it,” said Kitzmiller.

“It’s unfortunate that we have had really fast race cars in our three races this season but have nothing to show for it.

“I understand that is the way it goes sometimes – but I really want to give our A.L.L. Construction Racing a complete race start to finish and have a strong finish so we can build on it for the rest of the season.”

Pocono Raceway’s unique 2.5-mile triangle may just be what the doctor ordered for the successful entrepreneur.

In three previous Pocono starts, Kitzmiller has one top-10 last summer and an average finish of 13.3. Anticipating to build off his ninth-place run last July, Kitzmiller is eager to deliver his first top-10 finish of the season and build on his prior experience in Long Pond.

“Pocono is a fun race track,” explained Kitzmiller. “There is not another track like it on the schedule. It has a short track, road course and superspeedway all blended together. It presents its challenges, but it also provides a sense of fulfillment as a race car driver with the opportunity to go fast and be competitive.

“I have learned a lot about Pocono since 2020 and I hope to be in contention to earn another top-10 finish on Friday afternoon.”

With a stacked ARCA Menards Series field on deck for the 10th race on the schedule, Kitzmiller hopes to showcase what he has learned in his 21st career ARCA start.

“The initial start and restarts are crucial at Pocono as well as balancing the tunnel turn,” added Kitzmiller. “Thankfully, I feel like I have one of the best spotters in the business in Tim Fedewa who spots for Kevin Harvick on Sundays in my corner.

“Timmy will keep me in check during the race, but he will also be my biggest asset in doing everything I can to better our most recent performances. I’m just ready to get back in the saddle and get to work on Friday.”

In addition to the ARCA Menards Series this season, A.L.L. Construction Racing will also participate in select Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour Series events.

“While we may not have had the results we wanted at this point in the year, we are still having a lot of fun,” sounded Kitzmiller. “I am hoping as we dive into the rest of the year, we can even have more fun and keep our race car near the front in both the CARS Tour and the ARCA Menards Series.

“I want to thank my team for their endless efforts of making sure we go to the track with a competitive race car and having a positive outlook. The atmosphere is always positively contagious at Pocono, so I cannot wait to get there and mingle with the fans this weekend.”

Following Pocono, Kitzmiller and his team anticipate returning to the ARCA competition at Michigan International Speedway on Friday, August 4, 2023.

Since 2020, Kitzmiller has 20 ARCA Menards Series starts to his credit with four top-10 finishes overall, including a career-best eighth-place finish twice at Talladega Superspeedway (April 2020) and Michigan International Speedway (August 2020) respectively.

The Sunset Hill Shooting Range 150 (60 laps | 150 miles) is the 10th of 20 races on the 2023 ARCA Menards Series schedule in the 71st consecutive ARCA season. Practice begins Friday, July 21 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. General Tire pole qualifying in a timed session will start a short time later at 12:30 p.m. The race is set to take the green flag later in the day shortly after 6:00 p.m. ET. The event will be televised live on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) with the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and SiriusXM Satellite Radio (XM channel 391 | online channel 981) handling the radio waves. ARCARacing.com will also stream live timing and scoring throughout the entire weekend festivities.

AM Minute: Last weekend was another busy summer weekend for AM Racing.

In addition to the NASCAR Xfinity Series team being in action at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, AM Racing’s ARCA Menards Series team was roaring in action at Iowa Speedway with driver Christian Rose.

In his ARCA debut at Iowa, Rose capitalized on his ninth-place qualifying effort aboard his No. 32 West Virginia Tourism | Secure Testing Services Ford Mustang to run as high as sixth during the 150-lap race before a tight race car regulated the West Virginia driver to a career-best seventh place finish in the ninth race of the 2023 season.

Iowa’s finish marked the fifth top-10 finish in the last six races for the Statesville, N.C.-based team.

This weekend at Pocono Raceway, AM Racing will field an entry in the ARCA Menards Series, the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series and the NASCAR Xfinity Series respectively.

Thanks For Your Support: With more than 54 percent of the 2023 season complete, AM Racing and Brett Moffitt would like to thank their associate marketing partners for their support: AIRBOX Air Purifier, CForce Bottling Company, Concrete Supply, Destiny Homes, Flying Circle, Kreuz Market, Lane Frost Brand, Mechanix Wear and Mobil 1.

Continuing with Pocono Raceway this weekend, AM Racing will carry the AMerican Heroes livery, which will continue for the remainder of the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series and ARCA Menards Series seasons.

The team will work to salute all the men and women, past and present, who truly deserve the title of Hero, every weekend.

Brett Moffitt Xfinity Series Pocono Raceway Stats: Saturday afternoon’s Explore The Pocono Mountains 225 will mark Moffitt’s fourth start at the 2.5-mile triangle.

In his previous three efforts, Moffitt has delivered one top-10, two top-15 finishes and three top-20 finishes. His track-best result occurred during the 2020 Pocono Green 200 when Moffitt steered to a seventh-place finish after starting 18th for Our Motorsports.

In addition to his previous three Xfinity Series races, the popular driver also has two NASCAR Cup Series starts at the Pennsylvania race track to coincide with four NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series starts in the Keystone State.

Brett Moffitt Xfinity Series Speedway Stats: At NASCAR Xfinity Series tracks classified as a speedway greater than 2.0 miles in length, Moffitt has made 20 starts throughout his career earning two top-five and six top-10 finishes. He also holds an average finishing position of 16.2.

International Speedway in February 2021. During that tenure, he also holds an average finishing position of 17.4.

He earned a career-best Xfinity Series qualifying effort of fourth earlier this year at Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway with AM Racing.

In addition to 101 Xfinity Series starts, he has achieved 45 NASCAR Cup Series and 92 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series starts to his credit.

New Hampshire Motor Speedway | Ambetter Health 200 Race Recap: In the most recent NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway, Brett Moffitt and the AM Racing chased their fifth top-10 finish of the season.

In their lone trip to the 1.054-mile speedway, Moffitt capitalized on his 12th-place qualifying effort aboard the No. 25 AM Technical Solutions Ford Mustang to hover inside the top-15 for a majority of the race.

An array of late-race cautions allowed Moffitt to contend for his fifth top-10 finish of the year and despite a last lap of chaos, Moffitt claimed ninth to capture his second top-10 finish in the last three races.

More importantly, Moffitt gained ground in his bid to capture one of the top-12 Playoff positions in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

In 18 races this season, Moffit has delivered one top-five, five top-10s, 12 top-15s, 13 top-20s and an average finish of 15.7.

Brett Moffitt Quoteboard:

On Pocono Raceway: “I am looking forward to Pocono Raceway this weekend. Our AM Racing team has some good momentum right now and I feel like Pocono presents the opportunity for us to steal a win from the regular players in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and throw our AM Racing team into the Playoffs.

“We’ve been solid the last several weeks and we know we need to be a little bit stronger, but with the Playoffs lurking, believe me, we are not going down without a fight.”

“Over the years, Pocono has been a pretty good race track to me and if we can dial in our No. 25 AM Technical Solutions Ford Mustang, we’ll be a player.

“Pocono is a fun place to race but is definitely a momentum track where handling and speed can be critical. The balance on our AM Racing cars has been strong over the last couple of weeks and I hope we’re in a place to earn another top-10 finish on Saturday night.”

On 2023 Season Outlook: “We have just past the halfway point of the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series and I feel like we have a lot to be proud of. I believe as the season has marched on, our team has gotten stronger and I believe the results have showcased that.

“However, as the Playoffs are on the horizon, we are doing everything in our power to either point our way in or fight our way into Victory Lane so we can take up one of the coveted 12 spots and really bring some attention to our AM Racing team.”

Revving Up the Tracks: A Closer Look at Ryan Blaney’s Rise in the Racing World

As a third-generation driver, he has shown improvement across all significant aspects of his racing career. This progress began with a two-race debut 2014 alongside Roger Penske, followed by a partial season with the Wood Brothers in 2015.

Blaney’s Early Evolution

At 14, Blaney debuted in late model racing at Orange County Speedway. The Pitfalls to Avoid in Used Car Financing in Canada: A Buyer’s Guide

When it comes to financing a used car in Canada, there are several pitfalls that buyers should be aware of to avoid potential financial setbacks and disappointments. Understanding these pitfalls can help you navigate the used car financing process with confidence and make informed decisions. In this blog post, we’ll discuss the common pitfalls to avoid in used car financing in Canada, ensuring a smooth and successful car-buying experience.

  1. Ignoring Your Credit Score and Financial Standing:

One of the most significant mistakes buyers make is neglecting to assess their credit score and overall financial standing before seeking used car financing. Your credit score plays a crucial role in determining the interest rates and loan terms you qualify for. Checking your credit report and understanding your financial position can help you negotiate better financing terms and avoid unpleasant surprises during the application process.

  1. Overextending Your Budget:

Setting a realistic budget is vital when financing a used car. Calculate your monthly expenses, income, and savings to determine how much you can comfortably afford for a car loan. Overextending your budget can lead to financial strain and difficulty in making timely payments. Be mindful of additional costs such as insurance, registration fees, and maintenance expenses when determining your budget.

  1. Focusing Solely on Monthly Payments:

While low monthly payments may seem attractive, it’s essential to consider the overall cost of the loan and the interest rate. Some dealerships may offer extended loan terms to reduce monthly payments, but this could result in paying significantly more interest over time. Strike a balance between affordable monthly payments and minimizing the total interest paid over the loan term.

  1. Not Shopping Around for Financing Options:

Failing to explore multiple financing options is another pitfall to avoid. Different lenders, including banks, credit unions, and dealerships, offer varying interest rates and loan terms. Take the time to shop around and compare offers from different sources to find the most favorable financing option that suits your needs and budget.

  1. Skipping the Pre-Purchase Inspection and Vehicle History Report:

Before finalizing the purchase and financing, always conduct a thorough pre-purchase inspection by a trusted mechanic. A pre-purchase inspection can uncover any potential issues or hidden problems with the used car. Additionally, request a comprehensive vehicle history report to check for previous accidents, ownership history, and mileage discrepancies.

  1. Falling for High-Interest Financing Offers:

Be cautious of dealerships or lenders offering high-interest financing, especially if you have a good credit score. High-interest financing can lead to paying more for the car over time and may create financial stress. Compare interest rates and terms from different lenders to ensure you secure the most favorable financing option.

  1. Not Reviewing the Sales Agreement Thoroughly:

Before signing any financing agreement, carefully review the sales contract and loan terms. Ensure that all discussed terms and conditions are accurately reflected in the agreement. Clarify any uncertainties and ask questions if something is unclear. Avoid signing any document that you are not fully comfortable with or if there are discrepancies. Avoiding the pitfalls in used car financing is crucial for a successful and financially responsible car purchase in Canada.  Conduct a self-assessment of your credit score and financial standing before seeking financing. Set a realistic budget, considering both monthly payments and total loan costs. Shop around for the best financing options, conduct pre-purchase inspections, and review sales agreements carefully. By being proactive and well-informed, you can steer clear of potential pitfalls and confidently secure financing for your used car purchase in Canada.
