Future Off-Road Stars Claim Victories in 2026 Parker 400 Youth Races

The American Off-Road Racing Championship’s continued commitment to the future stars of off-road racing was on full display on Friday morning, as the 2026 Parker 400 Youth Races saw dozens of top young talents take to the course for their season opener. When all was said and done, Cash Martinez took top honors in the Youth 1000 race after missing out on the podium last year, while just one of the six Youth classes produced a repeat winner from 2025.

The action started with a combined race for the four Youth 170, 200, and 250 divisions, with Youth 250 racer Kyson Christensen coming out on top over Cade Finley for the class and overall wins by just 16.032 seconds. Christensen, Finley, and Youth 170 Open winner Slater Sperry were the only racers to manage 11 laps of the course in the 25-lap timed race.

Coming in just behind the three of them were the entire Youth 170 Production podium of Johnny Savino Jr., Danger Cerrone, and Maisyn Atteberry, who were separated by under 90 seconds at the finish line. Shortly behind them, Jack Gillaspy earned his first of two wins on the day, successfully defending his win from last year in Youth 200.

Up next was the Youth 1000 race, which saw its own closely matched battle for the win with Martinez defeating Landon Morrow by just under 35 seconds. Brixton Wirt, last year’s Youth 170 Open winner, rounded out the podium, while Kevin Braun and Samuel Gibbs completed the top five. Gillaspy rounded out the winners on the day in Youth 570 as Finley scored his second podium of the day as well.

Family, friends and members of the NASCAR community gathered at Bojangles’ Coliseum on Friday in Charlotte to reflect on the legacy left behind by Greg Biffle. He was killed in a plane crash at Statesville Regional Airport on Dec. 18.

His wife, Christina, children Emma and Ryder, and friends Craig Wadsworth, Jack Dutton and Dennis Dutton also lost their lives in the accident.

Throughout the service, speakers emphasized Biffle’s defining traits — competitiveness, generosity and an eagerness to help others. These are qualities that resonated both during his racing career and in his life away from the track.

Close friend Garrett Mitchell, also known as ‘Cleetus McFarland’, spoke about the meaning behind the phrase he has made popular, “‘Be Like Biff.’

“‘Be Like Biff’ isn’t just words,” Mitchell said. “It’s about taking chances, showing up for people, chasing goals you’ve been putting off and helping others whenever you can.”

Biffle’s career in NASCAR included 19 Cup Series wins but his later years were defined by his humanitarian efforts, particularly after Hurricane Helene in 2024.

His death was mourned by many, including Richard Petty, who posted on social media, “Richard Petty and the Petty Family are heartbroken by the tragic loss of Greg Biffle and his family. Greg was not only a fearless competitor but someone who showed that same fearlessness in his generosity to others. Our deepest condolences to their loved ones.”

Former teammate and NBC Sports analyst Jeff Burton addressed the balance Biffle maintained between fierce competitiveness and compassion.

New-look TGR-WRT launches landmark campaign on legendary rally

TOKYO, Jan 16, 2026 – (JCN Newswire) – A new-look TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team will begin its 10th season of competition when the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship gets underway with the iconic Rallye Monte-Carlo on January 22-25.

After a record-breaking 2025 campaign, TGR-WRT enters this year with the goal to successfully defend its manufacturers’, drivers’ and co-drivers’ titles. Not resting on its laurels, the team continues to work on improving the all-conquering GR YARIS Rally1 car, which also sports a striking new red, white and black livery.

Making use of the homologation jokers available for the final season of the current Rally1 regulations, the team has focused on developments around aerodynamics and suspension. These include a new rear wing (fitted to the three manufacturer entries for round one) while the introduction of new parts to the suspension system allows for greater setup possibilities.

The team once more counts on a strong and exciting driver line-up with all five GR YARIS Rally1 crews in action on round one.

Sébastien Ogier claimed a record-equalling ninth world championship in a thrilling conclusion to the 2025 season, guided by co-driver Vincent Landais. He is also the most successful driver in the long history of Rallye Monte-Carlo, which is based in his hometown of Gap in the French Alps, having achieved his 10th victory one year ago.

Before the start of the rally at Monaco Harbour on Thursday, a new special edition GR Yaris marking Ogier’s ninth title will be unveiled, and displayed alongside the GR Yaris MORIZO RR that was created with TGR-WRT Chairman Akio Toyoda and revealed at Tokyo Auto Salon.

Elfyn Evans embarks on his seventh successive full season with TGR-WRT, along with co-driver Scott Martin. Last year’s championship runners-up, they have finished on the podium four times at Rallye Monte-Carlo during their time with the team, including second place in 2025.

Joining the line-up for the 2026 season are Oliver Solberg and co-driver Elliott Edmondson following their dominant run to last year’s WRC2 title in the GR Yaris Rally2 car plus victory on their GR YARIS Rally1 debut in Estonia. With six previous Rallye Monte-Carlo starts to his name, Solberg is the third final driver nominated to score manufacturers’ points for TGR-WRT.

Also competing in a fourth car under the TGR-WRT banner are Takamoto Katsuta, looking to build upon a previous best finish of sixth on the event with co-driver Aaron Johnston. Sami Pajari meanwhile begins his second season under the TGR-WRT2 banner, with the goal to continue the strong progress he demonstrated during his rookie campaign last year alongside co-driver Marko Salminen.

TGR-WRT’s commitment to supporting young drivers extends to the WRC Challenge Program. After demonstrating strong progress during 2025, the Program’s second-generation driver Yuki Yamamoto takes another step, embarking on a full season of WRC rallies driving a GR Yaris Rally2.

Yamamoto’s is one of seven GR Yaris Rally2 cars entered on Rallye Monte-Carlo. Filip Mareš, Chris Ingram, Eliott Delecour (son of 1994 Rallye Monte-Carlo winner François), Olivier Burri and Johannes Keferböck are all registered within WRC2, with Paolo Vallivero also on the entry list.

Rallye Monte-Carlo is famed for its often-changeable weather conditions which can bring ice and snow to the asphalt roads. Tyre choice can be crucial, with a wider range of rubber – some fitted with studs – available to suit the conditions. This year’s rally starts and finishes in Monaco’s harbour and, for the first time since 2008, includes a super special stage using part of the principality’s grand prix circuit.

The action heads straight for the mountains on Thursday with three stages driven en route back to Gap, two of them in darkness. A trio of stages west of Gap are all run twice on Friday, while Saturday features three more mountain tests before the Monaco Circuit super special in the evening. A pair of repeated stages above Monaco form Sunday’s finale, including the rally-ending Power Stage over the famous Col de Turini.

By joining the NHRA Member Track Network, Middle Georgia Sports Park will be eligible to offer racers in the area a variety of NHRA-sanctioned racing opportunities in the future, including the NHRA Summit Racing Series, the NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League, NHRA Street Legal, NHRA Jr. Street and more. Additionally, the track will have the chance to host NHRA specialty events like the NHRA Summit King of the Track and more.

Middle Georgia Sports Park will also get access to NHRA’s extensive support programs as part of the member track network, insurance benefits and national marketing platforms as they excitedly move into a new era for the facility.

Cole Custer Returns to SS-Greenlight Racing for 5 Race Schedule in 2026

Mooresville, N.C. (1/16/26) – SS-GreenLight Racing is excited to announce that Former Series Champion Cole Custer will return to the organization in 5 events for the 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season. The combination has proven it can break through on the big stage, highlighted by its victory with Cole at Auto Club Speedway in 2022. Custer brings with him an impressive record in the Nascar O’Reilly (Formerly Xfinity) Series, where he has notched 15 wins, 21 Poles, and 119 Top 10s and a Championship in 2023.

Founded in 2001 by former NASCAR driver Bobby Dotter, SS-GreenLight Racing has spent more than two decades competing in NASCAR’s national series and establishing itself as a resilient, hardworking organization. The team has secured one victory at Auto Club Speedway in 2022 with Custer driving.

Bobby Dotter said of the signing “Having Cole back in our car is an honor, we’ve been lucky to share success and we hope to have more this season.” He went on to say “We are stepping up our program this year with lease motors and new personnel and Cole will be a big part of that effort.”

CONNOR MOSACK RETURNS TO SPIRE MOTORSPORTS IN 2026 FOR SELECT NASCAR CRAFTSMAN TRUCK RACES

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (January 16, 2026) – Connor Mosack will return to Spire Motorsports’ No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado for 12 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series races in 2026, beginning with the division’s inaugural visit to the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg (Fla.) Feb. 28 where The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation (FOJ) will be showcased as the team’s primary sponsor.  

Mosack made six NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series starts for Spire Motorsports in 2024 where he earned one top-five and four top-10 finishes, combining for a 12.3 average finish.

“I’m eager to return to Spire Motorsports in 2026,” said Mosack.” I enjoyed my time with the team two years ago, and I’m looking forward to working with Brian (Pattie) and the No. 7 team again. Representing Friends of Jaclyn Foundation is a responsibility that’s important to me. I was introduced to the founder, Denis Murphy, several years ago, and was really moved by his story and mission. I’ve been a part of the Adopt-A-Child program in the past and worked with two young boys, both who were battling pediatric cancer, and their families. To witness those challenges, firsthand, was very impactful. Raising awareness for what FOJ is doing is important to me.”

Mosack, a Charlotte, N.C., native, launched his career in 2017 following an on-track experience at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway that sparked his passion for the sport. While advancing through the U.S. Legends ranks, he earned a degree in entrepreneurship from High Point University in 2021 and was later recognized as a three-time Dean’s List honoree and a 2022 “Ten Under Ten” Young Alumni Award recipient.

He has since made a multitude of starts across the ARCA Menards Series, CRAFTSMAN Truck Series and NASCAR’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. Beyond NASCAR, his experience includes competition in the Trans Am TA2 division, the CARS Tour, and Pro and Super Late Model ranks.

In 2025, Mosack earned top-10 finishes in both of his ARCA Menards Series starts, a top-five and four top-10 CRAFTSMAN Truck Series results and one top five and two top 10s in NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series competition.

The third of 25 races on the 2026 CRAFTSMAN Truck Series schedule will be broadcast live on the NASCAR Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
