Chris Buescher to Lead Walk with Fans, Championing Heart Health and Daily Wellness

CONCORD, N.C. (June 17, 2025) – In its continued effort to promote heart health, RFK Racing partner Esperion will host a one-mile Wellness Walk at Pocono Raceway on Saturday, June 21, following the conclusion of the NASCAR Xfinity Series race. Chris Buescher will lead the walk, which will take place on the front stretch and pit road.

Fans and attendees are invited to participate in the walk, encouraging the NASCAR community to take steps toward better cardiovascular health. The event is part of RFK Racing and Esperion’s shared commitment to raising awareness around heart wellness and supporting healthier lifestyles through simple, everyday actions.

“We’re excited to host the Wellness Walk with the RFK team again this year in Pocono,” said Sheldon Koenig, President and CEO, Esperion Therapeutics. “Living an active lifestyle is one of the best ways to take care of your health and wellness, so we encourage anyone who wants to participate to join us on Saturday as we walk the track!”

Fans interested in attending the walk are encouraged to stay tuned to RFK’s social media channels for updated maps and information. The walk will start on the front stretch following the Xfinity race, and is accessible to all fans, including those in the grandstands and the infield.

“I’m excited to lead the Wellness Walk at Pocono with RFK Racing and Esperion,” Buescher said. “Taking just a little time for your health each day can make a big difference—and if we can help inspire that in the NASCAR community, even better. It’s a simple step, but it’s a powerful one.”

On Sunday, Buescher will be in the No. 17 Nexletol Ford Mustang at Pocono Raceway (June 22, 2 p.m. ET, Prime, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

Team Stats & Notes

  • Niece Motorsports Pocono Stats: Niece drivers have accounted for 23 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) starts at Pocono Raceway. The organization visited victory lane with Ross Chastain in 2019, and has earned a total of three top-fives and four top-10 finishes over the years. Last year, Chastain was the highest-finishing driver for the team in fifth-place.

No. 42 J.F. Electric / Utilitra Chevrolet Silverado RST
Driver: Matt Mills | Crew Chief: Mike Shiplett

  • Mills’ Pocono Stats: Matt Mills has competed in two NCTS races held at Pocono Raceway. Mills earned his series-best finish at the track last year when he finished in 11th-place. Having raced in four NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) events at this track, Mills’ best finish was 23rd in 2021.
  • Shiplett’s Pocono Stats: Mike Shiplett finished 12th with Bret Holmes last year in his lone NCTS start at Pocono. Shiplett is a two-time winner at the 2.5-mile tri-oval, having won the NXS race with Kyle Larson in 2015 and with Cole Custer in 2019. In 12 Cup Series starts here, Shiplett’s best result was a 10th-place effort with AJ Allmendinger in 2010.
  • On the Truck: Mills’ No. 42 Chevrolet Silverado RST will race with support from longtime partners J.F. Electric and Utilitra, who will serve as his anchor partners for the entire 25-race season.
  • Recapping Michigan: Matt Mills and the No. 42 team played the strategy game in Michigan and rebounded nicely before getting swept up in a crash. Mills started the 125-lap race from 22nd and experienced some overheating issues early on. Getting off sequence, the team took advantage of some late-race chaos to enter the top-10. Just as everything was looking up for Mills, however, he became involved in an incident on the backstretch which ended his race. The team was left with a 23rd-place finish in the garage.
  • Points Rundown: Due to the Michigan crash, Mills dropped two positions in the points standings – now shown in 19th. Mills is only two points behind a pair of drivers – Andres Perez De Lara and Connor Mosack – who are currently tied for 17th-place, and has a four-point gap over Dawson Sutton in 20th. With five races left until the Playoffs, Mills is currently 148 markers below the cutline.
  • Quoting Mills: You ran well here last year and are bringing a new truck this week, so what can you build off last year to get even better this time around?

“This year, I believe I’ll just have a better notebook to work off of. Last year was basically my first time there in a truck, and the race craft and how you build your runs are all very different. So, just going back there this year with a better notebook on how I can make different moves to put myself in better positions will be super helpful. Last year, we were in the top-five with two laps to go and I made a bad move that put me outside the top-10 in two corners. Basically, just correcting things like that and hoping that bringing a new truck will give us natural raw speed so we can have a good run there this weekend.”

No. 44 Niece Equipment / Jones Utilities Chevrolet Silverado RST
Driver: Conner Jones | Crew Chief: Wally Rogers

  • Jones Returns: Conner Jones is back behind the wheel of the No. 44 Chevrolet this week as he makes his second start with Niece Motorsports. Jones last raced with the team in North Wilkesboro, where he finished 27th after cutting a tire.
  • Jones’ Pocono Stats: Jones will make his first NCTS start at Pocono Raceway on Friday. He has, however, competed in one ARCA Menards Series race at this track, finishing fifth in 2023.
  • Rogers’ Pocono Stats: Wally Rogers has called three NCTS races at Pocono, finishing as high as 13th-place in 2019 with Jordan Anderson. Though he did not compete in last year’s race, Rogers has made a handful of starts on top of the box in other series. Rogers finished 19th in his lone NXS race with JJ Yeley in 2017, and also made three Cup Series starts here.
  • On the Truck: Jones’ No. 44 Chevrolet Silverado RST will race with support from Niece Equipment, Jones Utilities, and Bill’s Appliance Center.
  • Recapping Michigan: Ross Chastain and the No. 44 team contended for the victory in the DQS Solutions & Staffing 250. Though he started deep in the field after qualifying 26th, Chastain quickly advanced through the running order. Thanks to the help of some fast pit stops and a great handling truck, Chastain put on a thrilling show up at the front of the pack. Despite nearly wrecking while battling for the lead, Chastain maintained control to set him up for a late-race dash. Unfortunately, his race would end abruptly after getting turned from the lead on a restart. Done for the day, Chastain finished 26th on the hauler.
  • Owner Points Rundown: The No. 44 team remains in 16th-place in owner points entering the 14th race of the year at Pocono. The Rogers-led team of Jones, Chastain, Currey, and Gould currently sits 16 points behind Spire Motorsports’ No. 71 Chevrolet in 15th, and has a 23-point gap over TRICON Garage’s No. 15 entry in 17th.
  • Quoting Jones: You’ve never raced a truck here before, but have some seat time in ARCA. How well-equipped are you to adapt to driving the truck here?

“I’m definitely looking forward to coming back to Pocono. I think we have a great opportunity to be fast this weekend. The ARCA car drives a little different compared to a truck, but I’ve had a good amount of experience on the bigger tracks and I know that the No. 44 team has had speed everywhere they’ve raced this year. I’m hoping we can get a good day out of it with our Niece Equipment / Jones Utilities / Bill’s Appliance Center Chevy.”

About Niece Equipment: For over 30 years, Niece Equipment has provided clients with reliable products at competitive prices. Our reputation is built on service, integrity and dependability.

No. 45 DQS Solutions & Staffing Chevrolet Silverado RST
Driver: Kaden Honeycutt | Crew Chief: Phil Gould

  • Honeycutt’s Pocono Stats: Kaden Honeycutt has competed in two NCTS races at Pocono. Honeycutt’s best track finish came in his Niece Motorsports debut in 2023, when he finished 20th.
  • Gould’s Pocono Stats: Phil Gould has called the shots in six NCTS races at Pocono. Gould is a past truck winner here, having went to victory lane with Ross Chastain in 2019. In six starts, his drivers have finished inside the top-five twice, including a fifth-place effort last year. Gould also made three NXS starts at ‘The Tricky Triangle’, finishing as high as 13th with Ryan Reed in 2018.
  • On the Truck: Honeycutt’s No. 45 Chevrolet Silverado RST will race with support from DQS Solutions & Staffing and Masked Owl Technologies, who will serve as his anchor partners for the majority of the season.
  • Recapping Pocono: Kaden Honeycutt and the No. 45 team demonstrated immense raw speed in Michigan, but did not earn the finish they deserved. Honeycutt qualified the highest out of the team in 16th, but gained track position early through the help of his teammates. By finishing fifth in stage one and fourth in stage two, Honeycutt bagged a total of 13 stage points on the day. Late in the going, however, he was an innocent victim of contact off turn four, which gave him a flat right front tire. Forced to pit under green, the team then suffered another flat tire, but stayed in the fight to produce the fastest lap of the race. Honeycutt had to settle for a 21st-place finish multiple laps behind.
  • Points Rundown: Since there was another new winner in Michigan, Honeycutt’s margin above the Playoffs cutline has dwindled to 19 points, but he remains seventh overall. Heading into Pocono, Honeycutt is 16 points behind Layne Riggs in sixth, and 15 points above Ty Majeski in eighth.
  • Quoting Honeycutt: Even though you didn’t run this race last year, your team was pretty fast. Are they going to bring a similar setup build this time, or will it be something new?

“I think it will be a combination of both. I know we’ll have some good speed at Pocono because Niece Motorsports has been fast every year they’ve gone there. Pocono is a really different type of racing, and we have more laps added compared to what we’ve done in the past, so that will be a little bit of a mix up too with strategies. I have a feel for that track, and we had a good package in Michigan, so I think we’re trending on the right direction. I know Ross (Chastain) won there quite a long time ago, so I think we can do that again. We have the speed, just need to go out and execute.”

About DQS Solutions & Staffing: Guided by a mission to achieve excellence and adaptability, DQS partners with clients to create custom solutions that address unique business challenges. Recognized as Michigan’s fastest-growing company and #22 in the nation on the Inc. 5000 list, DQS drives industry growth while giving back through its nonprofit, Foundation for Pops, and partnerships like the River Rouge School District.

Blaney Going For Two in a Row at Pocono Raceway

POCONO

Friday, June 20 — NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, 5 p.m. ET (FS1)
Saturday, June 21 — NASCAR Xfinity Series, 3:30 p.m. ET (CW)
Sunday, June 22 — NASCAR Cup Series, 2 p.m. ET (PRIME VIDEO)

NASCAR’s top three series will all be in action this weekend at Pocono Raceway with single events taking place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Ford is looking for repeat victories in the NASCAR Xfinity and NASCAR Cup Series after Cole Custer (NXS) and Ryan Blaney (Cup) pulled off wins a year ago.

BLANEY GOING FOR POCONO REPEAT

Ryan Blaney has a pair of NASCAR Cup Series wins at Pocono Raceway, including last year when he led a race-high 44 laps and won by 1.312 seconds over runner-up Denny Hamlin. It marked Ford’s sixth win in the last 10 races and was Blaney’s 12th career victory. Pocono is one of only three tracks where Blaney has registered multiple wins with the other two being Martinsville (two) and Talladega (three). He will be trying to become the first driver since Kyle Busch in 2017-18 to win back-to-back Cup races at the track known as The Tricky Triangle.

CUSTER POSTS FIRST HFT TOP 10

Cole Custer’s eighth place finish on Sunday in Mexico City was the best among Ford drivers and also marked the first top 10 run for the Haas Factory Team, which is in its first season after the changeover from Stewart-Haas Racing. Custer, who has 351 combined career starts in NASCAR’s top three series, heads to Pocono Raceway this weekend, where he has a pair of NASCAR Xfinity Series victories, including last season when he took the lead from Justin Allgaier and led the final nine laps.

FORD DRIVING 4 A DIFFERENCE STANDINGS

Pocono marks the final race in the Ford Driving 4 A Difference presented by the Gene Haas Foundation with Ford’s five NASCAR Xfinity Series drivers hoping to win as much as $20,000 for their charity of choice. The points each driver earns in races at Charlotte, Nashville, Mexico City, and Pocono will be added together with the winner being the one with the highest total. If a driver wins one of those events, their point total for that race is doubled.

Sheldon Creed (Friends of Jaclyn Foundation) — 112
Sam Mayer (Starkey Hearing Foundation) — 97
Harrison Burton (All Within My Hands) — 70
Ryan Sieg (Isabella Santos Foundation) — 57
Kyle Sieg (Motor Racing Outreach) — 25

BLANEY GETS FIRST CUP VICTORY

Ryan Blaney earned his first NASCAR Cup Series victory in 2017 at Pocono Raceway, giving the Wood Brothers their 99th all-time series win. Blaney held off Kevin Harvick over the final seven laps to win the Pocono 400 after overcoming a loose wheel only 19 laps into the event. He found himself in position to win after the caution came out with 19 laps to go. Kyle Busch opted to stay out while all of the other contenders behind him pitted, including Blaney who got four fresh tires and restarted fourth. A major battle between Busch and Blaney resulted, but the newer tires proved to be too much as Blaney eventually got by with nine laps to go. He couldn’t breathe easy, however, as Harvick started to reel him in. Despite closing the gap, Harvick could never pull alongside to challenge and Blaney took the checkered flag.

BUESCHER JOINS FIRST-TIME WINNERS CLUB AT POCONO

Chris Buescher is another Ford driver who posted his first NASCAR Cup Series win at Pocono when he won the rain-shortened Pennsylvania 400 in 2016. Buescher led the final 12 laps and qualified for the playoffs as the scheduled 160-lap race was called after 138 circuits. It represented the second series win and first playoff qualification for Front Row Motorsports, which Buescher drove for in 2016 after the organization entered into an alliance with what was then Roush Fenway Racing.

KULWICKI’S FINAL WIN

When Alan Kulwicki won the Champion Spark Plug 500 on June 14, 1992 it marked the final victory of his NASCAR Hall of Fame career. Kulwicki, who was voted into the Hall in 2019, passed Bill Elliott with 11 laps remaining to cap a day that saw 15 cars drop out before the checkered flag flew, including 11 engine failures. In a precursor to what happened a few months later at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Kulwicki and Elliott battled down the stretch as they exchanged the lead multiple times over the final 25 laps. Kulwicki passed Elliott for the top spot on lap 181, but traffic slowed him down to the point that five laps later the two swapped positions. Mark Martin made it a three-way battle, but Kulwicki ultimately prevailed as he got by both drivers on lap 190 and never looked back. Kulwicki, who won five series races overall, went on to win the championship later that year over fellow Ford drivers Elliott and Davey Allison.

FORD ALL-TIME POCONO WINS LEADER

The NASCAR Xfinity Series has been racing once a year at Pocono Raceway since 2016 and in that time Ford has won five times, which is the most for any manufacturer. Cole Custer has two of those victories while Brad Keselowski, Austin Cindric and Chase Briscoe have one each. Ford’s Ryan Sieg has competed in all nine events and is coming off a 12th-place run last year, which tied his career best at the track. Overall, Chevrolet has three wins and Toyota one.

CHANDLER SMITH LEADING FORD

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series had last weekend off, but gets back in action on Friday at Pocono Raceway. With only five races remaining in the regular season, Ford’s Chandler Smith and his two wins are secure in making it to the postseason. He has one career win at Pocono and is currently second in the series point standings while three other F-150 drivers are also in the top 10. Smith’s teammate at Front Row Motorsports, Layne Riggs, is sixth while the ThorSport Racing duo of Ty Majeski (eighth) and Jake Garcia (ninth) round out the Ford foursome.

BLANEY MULTI-CLASS WINNER

As previously mentioned, Ryan Blaney earned his first Cup Series victory in 2017 at Pocono. He is also the only Ford driver to win in multiple classes at Pocono, as he earned his second career Truck Series victory there in 2013. Blaney overtook the field during a chaotic restart going into Turn 1 with two laps remaining and held on to take the checkered flag.

CORVETTE RACING AT WATKINS GLEN: Six-Hour Sprint

Halfway point of IMSA season sees Corvettes in championship hunts

DETROIT (June 17, 2025) – Following extremely positive results at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, it’s time for the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R teams in IMSA to take on an endurance race of their own this weekend in the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.

Four Corvettes will be part of both GT classes at The Glen with 31 production-based cars part of the full 56-car entry for the first IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship round of the summer. The goal is to deliver the Corvette Racing program its third victory in the Sahlen’s Six Hours and first since 2021.

Watkins Glen also serves as the third of five rounds in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup with the Corvette program already having a victory this year courtesy of GTD team AWA.

At Watkins Glen, points will be awarded at the three-hour mark as well as the race’s end. Entering the Six Hours, Chevrolet stands third in both the GTD PRO and GTD Manufacturers standings; a maximum of five points per segment are available at IMEC events.

Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports (GTD PRO)

· No. 3 Corvette Z06 GT3.R: Antonio Garcia/Alexander Sims

· No. 4 Corvette Z06 GT3.R: Tommy Milner/Nicky Catsburg

The Pratt Miller Corvette team has three victories at Watkins Glen including the Six Hours in 2014 and 2021. Of note, Antonio Garcia was part of all three victories and is a two-time pole-winner in the event. Garcia and Alexander Sims have three podiums in four races this year and sit second in the GTD PRO Drivers Championship. The duo were second at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the last GTD PRO round at Detroit.

Tommy Milner and Nicky Catsburg aim to make the podium for the first time this season after some bouts of hard luck earlier this year. The No. 4 Corvette duo has led in class at both Daytona and Sebring but in-race contact – particularly at Detroit – derailed their race-winning hopes. A year ago, Milner had to pit from the lead with one lap to go.

AWA (GTD)

· No. 13 Corvette Z06 GT3.R: Matt Bell, Orey Fidani, Lars Kern

The AWA squad contests its second long-distance race in as many weekends following a 10th-place showing in the LMGT3 class of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Bell, Fidani and Kern finished seventh last year in GTD at Watkins Glen but ran in the GTD top-five ahead of a downpour that trapped the AWA Corvette – and many others – on-track with slick tires on. The solid run at Le Mans, where they ran as high as sixth in class, gives the team hope of adding a second race win to its count (the Rolex 24 to start the season) and a boost in the GTD Drivers and Teams championships for the full season and the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup.

DXDT Racing (GTD)

· No. 36 Corvette Z06 GT3.R: Charlie Eastwood, Alec Udell, Salih Yoluc

DXDT’s endurance lineup reunites again with some solid momentum from the previous two sprint races on its side. Eastwood is coming off a third-place finish at Le Mans in one of TF Sport’s Corvettes, Alec Udell is driving the remaining sprint races with DXDT Racing, and Yoluc was part of a positive test at The Glen with DXDT Racing about a month ago.

DXDT Racing appeared on course for a podium finish and potentially a class win at Sebring with its three-driver endurance lineup before a late-race problem in the waning laps sidelined the Corvette.

The Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen is scheduled for 12:10 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 22. The race will air live on NBC from noon to 3 p.m. with full streaming coverage on Peacock. IMSA Radio will air all on-track sessions at IMSA.com along XM 206, SiriusXM Online 996.

CORVETTE RACING BY PRATT MILLER MOTORSPORTS

PRE-EVENT DRIVER QUOTES

ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “We are getting close to our first win of the season. Watkins Glen gives us a great chance to achieve it. The nature of the track should favor us in some ways. I feel like the Corvette – no matter the version of racecar – has always been very solid and fast at tracks like Watkins Glen. It’s one of the amazing tracks in America that we look forward to every year.”

ALEXANDER SIMS, NO. 3 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “I would say we are optimistic going back to Watkins Glen. Antonio, myself and the No. 3 guys have been pretty consistent all season. We haven’t been able to win yet but we’ve been very close a couple of times. I’m hoping that the breakthrough comes at The Glen, which is one of my absolute favorite tracks in America. The flow of corners around there works so well in the Corvette, and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience in it last year. If we are to come through with a win, this would be a great time for it.”

TOMMY MILNER, NO. 4 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “I’m really looking forward to getting back to Watkins Glen this weekend. It’s a race that I’ve thought about a lot over the last year. We were fortunate to be in a position to win at the end due to all of the cautions but it still stung having to pit coming to the white flag for fuel. The Six Hours is a race that I’ve yet to win and is very much on my list of ones I very much would like to cross off. Our Corvette Z06 GT3.R has been quick all year but we still struggle to race well with others in the class with our power disadvantage. Watkins Glen allows for a bit of strategy and we’ll continue to use all of our tools to fight for the win.”

NICKY CATSBURG, NO. 4 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: ‘Last year at Watkins we had some minor issues with the car, which we only found out after the weekend! So we are looking for some redemption and a better shot at it. Watkins Glen was not super successful for us, even though the car was good. But I do love the place so I cannot wait to go back and give it another try. It’s one of my favorite circuits in the States. Hopefully this time we can stay out the sort of trouble like we had at Detroit with some of the other cars. We need a clean race and we need a result finally. I think we deserve it.”

AWA PRE-EVENT DRIVER QUOTES

MATT BELL, NO. 13 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “IMSA is always full of amazing circuits. We’re looking forward to getting back on that side of the pond where we know are very strong. I love driving around Watkins Glen. We felt like it was a little bit of a race that got away from us last year. Obviously the weather had an impact on the results and things. I’m ready to go back there. I feel like we’ve had the pace to podium in each race this year if not competing for wins. I think we can do the same this weekend.”

OREY FIDANI, NO. 13 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “It’s pretty exciting going into this next stretch of races. Le Mans was pretty awesome for us and a lifetime achievement and dream for me. I really, really enjoy Watkins Glen. The car was great there last year and should be super-strong this year. We want to try for a good result to get back some ground in the GTD championship and in the Endurance Cup. I’m looking forward to it.”

LARS KERN, NO. 13 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “It’s good to be in this car for as much time as you can. Le Mans was good to use in preparation for Watkins Glen this weekend. I had about a day-and-a-half at home to get ready to fly out. I’m looking forward to that challenge and being at the track. To me, this is very positive.”

DXDT RACING PRE-EVENT DRIVER QUOTES

CHARLIE EASTWOOD, NO. 36 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “Driving Watkins Glen during testing, it is such a good track. I had never been there in a GT car before testing, only in a prototype. It was great. After I did my first run and the team plugged in my intercom, the first thing I said was what an unbelievable racetrack. It’s so fast, so flowing, such high-grip. It really suits the Corvette so well because it has such a good aero platform. It feels like a mini-prototype in some of these corners. I’m looking forward to it. We had a good run at Sebring. We were on for our first podium in IMSA before an issue just at the flag. The team have shown great performance in the last two sprint races. I hadn’t been with the team for a couple of months but I can see the steps they’ve made as they are still new to IMSA. It’s a great bunch of people and I’m looking forward to this a lot.”

ALEC UDELL, NO. 36 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “We had a good test at Watkins Glen a couple of weeks ago and got to work through some things that we had had some questions about as we’ve been going through the season. It was a positive test and a good time to work all the drivers through. I’m not exactly sure how we’re going to stack up in the class, but we’ve had a very competitive car over the last few races and have always been able to run up front. There’s been a little bad luck mixed in with a couple of executional items that we can clean up as well. If we can just get a little bit of fortune on our side, we’re poised for a really solid result. Watkins Glen is a track that Salih likes. Charlie and myself are our big fans of the track, so we’re excited to go there. It’s well-suited to the strength of the Corvette Z06 GT3.R; we really thrive in those kinds of high-speed flowing sections and I think we’re good over curbs and good over the bumps. It’s similar to Sebring in that way. We had a good car there, and I think we’ll have a good car at Watkins Glen.

”I’m really excited with all the efforts that the DXDT crew are putting in with this program. On a personal note. I moved to the Charlotte area over the time from last race to this this race so I’ve been able to be a little bit more consistent in the shop and work on a few more of the driver things which I think will hopefully translate into some good synergies and good energy coming into the race. So I’m really looking forward to it.”

SALIH YOLUC, NO. 36 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: “We have a good opportunity to turn our luck around at Watkins Glen. The team had a very good test there and the Corvette appears to be a car that should be suited for the track. This is very different than the tracks I have raced so far this year – Daytona and Sebring – so I am looking forward to this challenge. I think we definitely can contend for a podium finish here if not more.”

Chisholm Makes Headlines, Takes Checkered FlagIn Round 2 Of Cook Out Summer Shootout

  • Cash Lecroy (Chargers), Spencer Bradshaw (Young Lions), Isaac Kitzmiller (VP Fuels Semi-Pro) and Robby Faggart (American Rebel Ale Masters) all delivered headline-worthy performances in Cook Out Summer Shootout’s Round 2; Bandolero action postponed due to weather
  • Tickets for Round 3’s Laps & Lassos-themed fun start at just $10; Kids 12 and under get in FREE with an adult. Tickets purchased for the postponed June 10 or June 16 races will be honored at the gate for Round 3. Tickets, schedules and more can be found online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com

CONCORD, N.C., (June 17, 2025) — While inclement weather postponed Round 2 for three Bandolero divisions, Cook Out Summer Shootout delivered an action-filled night of five Legend Car races. In the competitive Dilling Heating, Cooling, Plumbing and Electrical Pro division, Danny Chisolm made front-page news with a hard-charging win, while Young Lion driver Spencer Bradshaw impressed with his second win of the season.

The Dilling Heating, Cooling, Plumbing and Electrical Pro division put on a prime time-worthy performance Monday night, with NASCAR Cup Series driver Bubba Wallace going from P4 to P2 and Sunday’s NASCAR Mexico Cup Series winner Shane van Ginsbergen, coming straight from a plane to the track, driving from the rear of the field to sixth before getting caught up in an accident on Lap 19, ultimately finishing in 17th spot.

Taking the lead on Lap 1 and holding off a stacked field, Chisolm drove his way to Victory Lane in Monday’s Round 2. While it looked like Chisolm and No. 71 Jake Bollman were going to run away from the field, racing to a 1.5-second lead over the third spot, it wasn’t until Lap 13 that the Pro field got antsy and shuffled around, leaving room for Wallace to slide in to second.

After a series of cautions took out a number of competitors, including SVG, Wallace remained strong in the second spot, looking to use the inside in each turn to get around the track. Before he could capitalize on one more spot, time expired and a yellow flag called the race with Chisolm in the lead. Tyler Reif followed behind in the third spot, while Martin Gatzulis and Alex Reling completed the Top 5.

Another standout, Australian Supercar champion Scott McLaughlin, also got in on the Dilling Heating, Cooling, Plumbing and Electrical Pro action, racing his way through the chaotic field going 11th to sixth to end the night.

BRADSHAW BEATS THE YOUNG LIONS FIELD

In a highly competitive matchup where placement and strategy were key, Bradshaw emerged victorious in the Young Lions division for Round 2 of the Cookout Summer Shootout.

Colton Hale took the early lead with Bradshaw remaining on his bumper until ultimately passing him on Lap 8. After a PRO-FABrication Headers & Exhaust caution bunched the field in Lap 12, Bradshaw and Hale were battling for the top spot. With a jump on the caution cone by Hale, Bradshaw took the first position and never looked back.

Hale settled for second. Brody Rhodes took third. Colt Johnson finished fourth and Case James rounded out the top 5.

In other news, Cash Lecroy (Chargers), Isaac Kitzmiller (VP Fuels Semi-Pros) and Robby Faggart (American Rebel Ale Masters) all delivered Emmy-winning performances to claim Round 2 victories.

Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez Race Report

Viva Mexico 250
Date: Sunday, June 15, 2025

Event: Race 18 of 38
Series: NASCAR Cup Series
Location: Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez (2.42-miles)

Length of Race: 100 laps over three hours, 14 minutes, three seconds

FRM Finish:

● Todd Gilliland (Started 7th, Finished 22nd / Running, completed 100 of 100 laps)
● Noah Gragson (Started 35th, Finished 30th / Running, completed 100 of 100 laps)
● Zane Smith (Started 24th, Finished 35 / DNF, completed 76 of 100 laps)

FRM Points Standings:

Zane Smith (25th)
Todd Gilliland (26th)
Noah Gragson (33rd)

Todd Gilliland Key Takeaways

Stage One: 5th / Stage Two: 17th / Race Result: 22nd

“We had a solid qualifying spot and were able to grab some stage points early, but after pitting at the end of Stage One, we got shuffled to the back,” said Gilliland. “I got spun in Stage Two, and from there, we just couldn’t recover the track position. While I’m disappointed with the result, Mexico City was an incredible experience. The fans, the food, the track—everything made the trip worth it. Hopefully, we get the chance to come back.”

Noah Gragson Key Takeaways

Stage One: 30th / Stage Two: 32nd / Race Result: 30th

“It was an extremely challenging weekend,” said Gragson. “We unloaded with a car that felt decent and had some speed, but I skimmed the wall during first practice. Turned out to be more damage than we thought and had to go to the backup. During the race, we fought lateral grip and lost first gear about a third of the way through—probably damaged the transaxle on one of the three times we got spun. Really proud of the guys for all the hard work they put in —everyone stayed locked in and battled through it.”

Zane Smith Key Takeaways

Stage One: 35th / Stage Two: 35th / Race Result: 35th

“Tough weekend overall,” said Smith. “Fought handling in practice and qualifying, and when we really started making some ground in the race, I just lost traction, and we killed both rear toe links. If nothing happened there, I feel like we had a shot for a pretty solid finish. You’ll have that and we’ll move onto Pocono where we’re hoping the speed we had in Michigan and some of the other bigger tracks follows us.”

TOP FUEL’S TORRENCE EYES CONSISTENCY, HOT STREAK AT AMERICAN REBEL LIGHT VIRGINIA NHRA NATIONALS

DINWIDDIE, Va. (June 16, 2025) – Steve Torrence and his Top Fuel team showcased championship potential just more than a week ago in Bristol, as the four-time world champion picked up his first win in nearly a year.

Heading into this weekend’s fifth annual American Rebel Light Virginia NHRA Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park, Torrence would like to think it’s the start of a strong run that was on display when he won four straight world titles from 2018-2021.

Consistency in the world of 12,000-horsepower, 330-plus mph Top Fuel dragsters is always a difficult matter, but Torrence hopes his team has regained its championship touch in his Capco Contractors dragster. There’s previous success in Virginia – including back-to-back wins in 2018 and 2019 – and the four-time champ is eager to keep pushing forward during a busy June, this time during a thrilling two-day race weekend at VMP.

“We’ve had a lot of success,” Torrence said. “You may take that for granted, but it does put it into perspective that this is much more difficult than what it seems from the outside, especially cars that are winning 4-5 races or more. It shows the hard work that goes into it, but you also need some breaks along the way. The last couple years the car has been inconsistent and I’ve been inconsistent as a driver. It seems like the weekends I was good, the car was not, and the weekend the car was good, I was not. It all has to come together.”

Last season, Doug Kalitta (Top Fuel), Austin Prock (Funny Car) and Gaige Herrera (Pro Stock Motorcycle) all won in Richmond during the two-day event. This year’s event, which is the ninth of 20 races during the 2025 season in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, will be broadcast on FOX broadcast network and FS1, including eliminations coverage beginning at 4 p.m. ET on FOX on Sunday, June 22.

For the second straight year, the trek to VMP features a unique two-day race format in the professional classes, with fans getting an incredible chance to see three qualifying sessions from the 330-mph, 12,000-horsepower nitro machines on Saturday and eliminations on Sunday.

Torrence will also compete in the Mission #2Fast2Tasty specialty race, which takes place during the final two qualifying sessions on Saturday. He’ll take on points leader and racing legend Tony Stewart in a Bristol semifinal rematch, while the other matchup features Justin Ashley and Shawn Langdon, who is second in points.

As thrilling as winning his first race of 2025 was, Torrence was just as excited with the team getting to make four laps on Sunday. The team has picked up steam – minus a first-round loss in Epping – and could make another big move in Richmond.

To do so, he’ll also have to get past Kalitta, Epping winner Brittany Force, Clay Millican, reigning world champ Antron Brown and Josh Hart, but Torrence believes his team is moving in the right direction, with consistent runs again the name of the game this weekend in Richmond.

“We’ve changed a lot of stuff and are working at it very diligently, but you need to have laps,” Torrence said. “You need more information and the more information that backs up and solidifies what you thought, you can make changes more accordingly. If this thing goes out and goes 3.63 one lap, and you set the world on fire, and you don’t make it down the track the other three runs, you really didn’t accomplish anything. So, consistency is a major key to be successful.”

Prock, the reigning Funny Car champion, won his first Virginia NHRA Nationals over Bob Tasca III. Prock currently leads the points in 2025, while John Force Racing teammate Jack Beckman also has two wins this year. The loaded field also includes four-time world champ Matt Hagan, three-time champ Ron Capps and J.R. Todd.

Herrera, the two-time reigning champion, once again leads the Pro Stock Motorcycle points. He has two wins on the season and currently leads six-time champion Matt Smith. Other riders to watch will be Bristol winner Richard Gadson, Smith’s wife, Angie, as well as Chase Van Sant, Steve Johnson and Jianna Evaristo.

Along with action in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, fans can also enjoy racing in the Congruity NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series, NHRA Holley EFI Factory X and Pingel Top Fuel Motorcycle, providing a full weekend of non-stop entertainment.

Race fans aged 21 and older will have the chance to enjoy American Rebel Light – America’s Patriotic, God Fearing, Constitution Loving, National Anthem Singing, Stand Your Ground Beer – at the facility while taking in the incredible action on the track. Andy Ross, Chairman and CEO of American Rebel Beer and singer-songwriter, will also provide entertainment with a concert with his band during the jam-packed event.

All weekend, fans will be invited to the Nitro Alley Stage, which is the main entertainment hub in the pits. The stage hosts Nitro School, meet and greets, autograph sessions and more. Richmond race fans can enjoy the special pre-race ceremonies that introduce each driver and includes the fan favorite SealMaster Track Walk. Fans are also invited to congratulate the winners at the winner’s circle celebration on Sunday.

As always, fans get a pit pass to the most powerful and sensory-filled motorsports attraction on the planet. Fans can see their favorite teams in action and servicing their cars, get autographs and more. They can also visit NHRA’s Manufacturers Midway, where sponsors and vendors create an exciting atmosphere.

NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series qualifying roars into action with three rounds of qualifying on Saturday, June 21 at 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET, leading into a can’t-miss raceday with eliminations beginning at 12 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 22. Television coverage includes qualifying action at 2 p.m. on Sunday on FS1, leading into eliminations on FOX at 4 p.m. ET on Sunday.

PATRICK EMERLING TO DRIVE SPIRE MOTORSPORTS’ NO. 07 CHEVROLET SILVERADO AT POCONO RACEWAY

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (June 16, 2025) – Today, Spire Motorsports announced NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour standout Patrick Emerling will pilot the team’s No. 07 Chevrolet Silverado in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series MillerTech Battery 200 at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway where GOAT Power Bikes will be showcased as Emerling’s primary sponsor.

Emerling, a multi-time race winner on both the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and the Race of Champions Modified Tour, brings a wealth of short-track experience and national series versatility to the team’s Truck Series program. Pocono will mark the 32-year-old’s fourth race in CRAFTSMAN Truck Series competition and his debut with Spire Motorsports.

“I’m thrilled that GOAT is joining me for my first race with Spire Motorsports,” said Emerling. “Spire has really fast trucks, and GOAT has some of the fastest electric bikes on the market. Pocono is a fun and challenging track, and I’m ready to show what I can do.”

Emerling competes part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with SS-Green Light Racing while building his body of experience across NASCAR’s developmental ranks.

In 2017, the Orchard Park, N.Y., native, earned his first Whelen Modified Tour victory at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. His open-wheel accolades continued to stack up with a win in the 2019 Whelen Engineering All-Star Shootout at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and back-to-back Race of Champions titles in 2019 and 2020.

The 2021 season was a career highlight for Emerling, where he collected three Whelen Modified Tour wins and finished second in the championship. He also made multiple Xfinity Series starts for Our Motorsports. In 2022, he co-founded Emerling-Gase Motorsports, fielding two full-time Xfinity Series entries while also competing part-time during the 2023 season.

Emerling returned to full-time status in the Whelen Modified Tour in 2024, earning three wins and a runner-up finish in the division’s championship point standings. He kicked off 2025 with top modified honors at New Smyrna (Fla.) Speedway’s World Series of Asphalt, tallying a trio of victories in the five-day event.

“It’s a perfect-fit partnership. We both like to go fast,” said GOAT Power Bikes owner Byrson Goodman. “We’re excited to see the partnership develop.”
