·         In five Xfinity starts at Bristol, Buescher has three top-10 runs, including a career-best third in 2015.

Luke Lambert Historically at Bristol

·         Lambert will be atop the box for his 17th NCS race at Bristol. In 16 prior starts, he has five top-10s with a career-best fifth in the spring 2015 race with Ryan Newman. His average finish is 15.5.

·         Dating back six events, Lambert has four finishes of 12th or better, including two-straight top-10s with Newman in 2017-18.

·         Lambert is a former winner at Bristol in the NXS, bringing home one of his four career Xfinity wins back in the 2012 spring race. He and Elliott Sadler started fourth in the No. 2 machine and led the final 36 laps for the victory.

· Most recently, Newman finished 15th at the half-mile track this past spring as part of NASCAR’s Return to Racing, and prior to that ran ninth and 11th in 2019. He has an average overall starting spot of 12.4 at the track with three career poles (2001, 2003, 2004).

· Newman has an additional nine combined starts in the Xfinity and Truck Series, winning in NXS action back in 2005. He earned the pole in the NXS in 2006 and finished 10th or better in five NXS starts. He recorded a fourth-place result in the No. 2 truck in 2009.

Thursday night’s NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series (NGROTS) race at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway kicks off the 2020 Playoffs Round of 10. For the first time in his Truck Series career, Todd Gilliland is one of the 10 drivers qualified to compete for the championship. He is seeded ninth, 23 points behind first place and one point above 10th. Making the playoffs is also special since Front Row Motorsports (FRM) is new to the Truck Series and made the Round of 10 in its first attempt with Gilliland in the No. 38 Ford F-150.

Gilliland is happy to have Bristol as the first race of the playoffs. He used to not enjoy racing there, but since winning a NASCAR K&N East (now ARCA East) race there in 2018, it pumped up his confidence at the half-mile oval. Since then has has one top-five and two top-10 finishes in his two NGROTS starts there.

In 16 starts this season, Gilliland has four top-five, nine top-10 finishes and has led 92 laps in the No. 38 Ford F-150 for FRM. This Thursday, Speedco will be back as the primary sponsor for Gilliland.

The UNOH 200 from Bristol Motor Speedway will be run on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The race will be broadcast live on FS1. The 200-lap race will be broken into three segments with stage-ending cautions on laps 55 and 110.

Codie Rohrbaugh, CR7 Motorsports carry momentum to Bristol Motor Speedway

BRISTOL, Tenn.: Fresh off a superb top-10 finish in last Thursday night’s ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond (Va.) Raceway, Codie Rohrbaugh and his CR7 Motorsports carry the momentum of their second top-10 finish of the season hoping for a duplicate performance of Richmond in Thursday night’s UNOH 200 presented by Ohio Logistics at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.

A brilliant call from crew chief Doug George, plus a blazing fast No. 9 Praying for Joshua Chevrolet Silverado allowed Rohrbaugh to scream through the field during Stage 3 and land his third career top-10 finish in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series.

With an upbeat morale from the team, the Petersburg, WV native is looking forward to his return to Thunder Valley.
“I can’t tell you how much our Richmond performance meant for our CR7 Motorsports team,” said Rohrbaugh. “Everyone did their jobs to perfection and we took advantage of strategy and a fast truck to contend and successful leave there with a top-10 effort.

“This for sure was the rebound we needed after we’ve been back teetering week to week with our finishes. Knowing that we’re in a place to pick up on the momentum and get back-to-back top-10 finishes in Truck Series competition is what we’re after.”

After finishing 16th at the World’s Fastest Half-Mile in 2018, Rohrbaugh is confident in his family-owned team led by George that they can contend on Thursday night and continue to steal the thunder from some of the series’ regular.

And while this week’s race is the opening round of the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series Playoffs, Rohrbaugh says he’ll be respectful of his competitors but also knows he has a job to do for his team.

“Bristol is going to be a busy race,” Rohrbaugh added. “It’s the first race of the Playoffs and while I plan to be completely respectful of the guys in the Playoffs, we still have a job to do on Thursday night.

“If we have a chance at a top-10, we’re going for it. If we’re in position to win, heck yeah I’m going to go for it. We’re trying to make some noise of our own in the Playoffs – even though we’re not it in, but Bristol also is a place where the competition will be super tight and little room for error.”

Many have pointed to CR7 Motorsports’ recent two-week break from Truck Series competition for being a contributing factor to the recent stretch of respectable finishes, the 26-year-old driver is letting it be known, there’s still plenty of work to be done.

“We’re making gains that’s for sure,” he said. “But we’re not going to get complacent. From now until Phoenix, the competition is going to be fierce, but we’ll be ready. I promise you of that.

“Richmond gave us a great boost and I hope we can carry that dosage for the next couple of weeks, if not months.”

For their 10th consecutive race, CR7 Motorsports and their partner Grant County Mulch has again given up their space this weekend race for Joshua Shirk.

The No. 9 Chevrolet Silverado has been designed with a western-theme scheme, personally selected by Shirk.

The hood carries a special touch with Shirk displaying a message of his own that he wrote before the accident, “I am a child of God. He saves me. I talk to he.”

On May 17, 2020, eight-year-old Joshua Shirk was kayaking with family in rural West Virginia.

While on the water, the kayak capsized and Shirk became trapped under the water in debris.

When the family was finally able to pull him to safety, the young boy had no pulse. Quick work by medical workers at a local hospital was able to revive him but he remained in critical condition.

Shirk was later transported to WVU hospital in Morganton, West Virginia where he has made vast improvements but still needs the love, prayer and support of many.

Over the last two and a half months, Shirk has been able to come off a breathing machine and has started intense physical rehabilitation with a focus on working his muscles and standing up with assistance. His progress lately has been exceptional, as his muscles continue to strengthen – but a long road still remains.
After 16 races, Rohrbaugh is 21st in the championship standings.

CR7 Motorsports will have a busy Thursday at Bristol. Following the UNOH 200, Jason Kitzmiller will make his seventh ARCA Menards Series start of 2020 in the Bush’s Bean 200.

CR7 Motorsports has 25 NGOTS starts to their credit with a career-best finish of third at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway (February 2020). Additionally, the team owns two other top-10 finishes at Richmond (Va.) Raceway (sixth) in September 2020 and Martinsville (Va.) Speedway (10th) in October 2019. An 11th place qualifying effort at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway (Oct. 2019) is the team’s best time trials effort to date.

In 20 career ARCA starts, Rohrbaugh has a best finish of seventh twice at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway (July 2018 and Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway (February 2019). He has qualified a career-best fourth on four different occasions most recently at Kansas Speedway (Oct. 2018).

It’s an elimination race for the NASCAR Cup Series on Saturday night while four Ford F-150 drivers prepare to open the NASCAR Gander RV & Truck Series playoffs Thursday at Bristol Motor Speedway. The NASCAR XFINITY Series concludes its regular season with a Friday night race at the half-mile track.

FORD CONTINUES WINNING PACE

Keselowski’s fourth win of the season last weekend continued Ford’s string of success this season, and particularly since NASCAR returned to action. Overall, Ford drivers have combined to win 16-of-28 NASCAR Cup Series races (57%) and 14-of-24 points races (58%) since Kevin Harvick won the first race back at Darlington on May 17. Ford also holds a 62-point lead in the series manufacturers’ standings with eight races remaining.

CINDRIC CLINCHES NXS REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP

Austin Cindric joined Kevin Harvick as a regular season champion after clinching the NASCAR XFINITY Series title at Richmond. Cindric’s summer surge that saw him win 5-of-6 races helped carry him to the title and 15 bonus points that go along with it. Chase Briscoe is second in the point standings going into Friday’s regular season finale at Bristol and leads the series in wins with six. Harvick claimed the Cup Series regular season championship last month.

GOING FOR THREE STRAIGHT TRUCK SERIES WINS

ThorSport Racing drivers Ben Rhodes and Grant Enfinger have won the last two NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series races. A win on Thursday night at Bristol Motor Speedway would give Ford its first three-race winning streak in the series since 2000 when Greg Biffle (3) and Kurt Busch (2) combined to win five in a row. Ford’s five series wins this season also represents its highest single-season total since 2007.

KESELOWSKI GOING FOR BRISTOL CUP SWEEP

Brad Keselowski will try to become the first Ford driver to win both points races at Bristol Motor Speedway in the same season since Kurt Busch did it in 2003. He earned that opportunity after taking the lead with three laps remaining to win the Food City Supermarket Heroes 500 in May. Keselowski was in the right place at the right time as he took advantage of Chase Elliott and Joey Logano making contact and hitting the wall to snag his second win in as many weeks. Keselowski, who started on the pole after a draw decided the lineup, led for a total of 115 laps on the day, none more opportune than the final three.

FIREBALL BURNS BRIGHT IN FORD DEBUT

Ford won its first NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway on March 31, 1963 when Fireball Roberts won the Southeastern 500. What made the win so noteworthy is that it marked the debut of Roberts with Ford as a teammate of Fred Lorenzen’s at Holman-Moody. The duo put on a dominant show that day as they combined to lead 329 of 500 laps with Roberts leading 165 and Lorenzen 164. Roberts passed his new teammate with eight laps to go and won by five seconds as the race saw only one caution for nine laps. Roberts went on to win four races in 1963 while Lorenzen won six times.

A THREE SERIES SWEEP

One of the most memorable Ford weekends in recent years came in August of 2014 when Ford swept all three NASCAR series races – Gander RV & Outdoors Truck, XFINITY and Cup at Bristol Motor Speedway. Brad Keselowski captured his first NGOTS victory while Ryan Blaney took the XFINITY event. Joey Logano capped the weekend sweep when he passed Matt Kenseth with 45 laps to go and then had to hold off Keselowski to post his third win of the 2014 season. Logano was in control until caution came out with 69 laps to go. While he pitted for four tires, Kenseth and others stayed out which put Logano sixth on the ensuing restart with 63 to go. With fresh tires, however, he was able to move to the front in less than 20 laps and then hold off his Penske teammate down the stretch. It marked the first time Ford swept all three divisions in the same weekend since 2006 when Mark Martin (GOTS) and Kenseth (NXS and MENCS) did it, ironically, at Bristol.

BRISTOL BULLET POINTS

Rusty Wallace and Kurt Busch lead the way with five career Ford wins at BMS while Fred Lorenzen won three consecutive races at the half-mile oval…In addition, Alan Kulwicki won five races during his NASCAR Cup Series career and two of those came at Bristol Motor Speedway (1991-92)…Ford has swept both Bristol races seven times with the last coming in 2014 when Carl Edwards won the first event in March and Logano followed with his Night Race triumph in August.

ONE SMALL STEP FOR MAN, ONE GIANT LEAP FOR MANKIND

The date was July 20, 1969 and while Neil Armstrong we uttering those groundbreaking words as being the first man to step foot on the moon, David Pearson was busy winning at Bristol on the first race since the track installed high banking. What made the race even more interesting is that Pearson was relieved during the race by none other than Richard Petty, who was driving a Ford that season and dropped out earlier in the event. Even more ironic is that Petty was chasing Pearson for the championship that season, one in which Pearson eventually won for the second straight time.

MURPHY WILL RETURN TO BATTLE WITH NEMCO MOTORSPORTS

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (September 15, 2020)—Camden Murphy heads to the Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway with NEMCO Motorsports for a race at the short track that guarantees beating, banging, and temper tantrums. The NEMCO Motorsports No. 8 Chevrolet Silverado will carry the Advanced Collision Inc., branding as the primary partner in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series (NGROTS) UNOH 200 presented by Ohio Logistics at the Bristol Motor Speedway on Thursday, September 17 with Murphy at the wheel.

This weekend marks the 24-year old’s sixth event with NEMCO Motorsports, and his first at The Last Great Colosseum in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series. The Itasca, Ill.,-native is no stranger to the family-owned and operated team. Murphy started turning wrenches with NEMCO Motorsports in May 2019.

“I am incredibly excited to be able to drive for NEMCO Motorsports,” Murphy said. “NEMCO Motorsports has been an institution for the Nemechek family. Mayer to pilot JRM entry in second half of 2021 NXS season and fulltime in 2022

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 15, 2019) – JR Motorsports announced today that Sam Mayer, alumnus of the organization’s Late Model program and 2019 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East champion, will reunite with JRM in 2021 to begin the next phase of his racing career. The 17-year-old Mayer has been tabbed to drive a JRM Chevrolet in the second half of the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series season before taking the reins fulltime in 2022.

A native of Franklin, Wis., Mayer is the son of former IndyCar and road racing star Scott Mayer. Following a successful stint with JRM’s Late Model team in 2018-19, which included a victory in the prestigious Bobby Isaac Memorial, Mayer transitioned to K&N Pro Series competition, winning four races in 2019 en route to a championship that crowned him the youngest champion in any NASCAR series at the age of 16 years, three months and eight days. Mayer leveraged those achievements into 2020 success, tallying eight wins and 15 top-five finishes in 16 starts across ARCA and its East and West divisions.

“When Sam first came to run the late model a couple of years ago, he was adamant he would be racing an Xfinity car for us someday,” said Kelley Earnhardt Miller, JRM general manager. “I admired his initiative then, and now we’re happy to help make his dream a reality. It will be quite a step up, but it’s one he’s ready to make. He’s shown he has the skills to be successful at a very high level.”

Currently, Mayer leads the ARCA Menards East and ARCA Showdown championship standings. Mayer has also made six starts to date in the Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, earning a best finish of fourth at World Wide Technology Raceway earlier this season.

“Having the opportunity to return to JR Motorsports after racing late models with them in 2018 is definitely very special to me,” Mayer said. “Being able to share this news makes me very excited for the coming year. I hope I can learn as much as I can in the second half of next season and to be ready to go race fulltime for the NXS championship in 2022.”

If Mayer’s path seems familiar, that’s because it is. He is the second driver from the JRM Late Model pipeline to return to the organization for NXS competition, joining 2017 NXS champion and current Hendrick Motorsports driver William Byron, who piloted a JRM Late Model in 2014-15. Additionally, Mayer is the first racer to make the move to the NXS as part of Chevrolet’s Drivers Edge Development program. He’ll turn 18 on June 26, 2021.

  • The crash led to specific injuries
  • The injuries and accident caused losses

First, someone else’s actions (or inaction) must have caused your crash. You’re unlikely to get compensation in a single-person crash that was your own fault.

  • The day the victim passes away after the accident

The key phrase here is when you should have a “reasonable” reason to believe you’re hurt. Many motorcycle-related injuries don’t surface for months or years after the crash. If that’s the case, then your time won’t start until a doctor discovers your injuries.

Despite that, you shouldn’t wait to seek out treatment if you know you’re hurt. If you do, then the other party could argue you should’ve known about the injury before. They could get your case dismissed based on the statute of limitations.
