Packers Safety Evan Williams in Fastest Seat at Road America

INDIANAPOLIS (Wednesday, June 17, 2026) – Green Bay Packers safety Evan Williams will ride in the Fastest Seat in Sports at the XPEL Grand Prix at Road America Presented by AMR on Sunday, June 21.

Williams, selected by the Packers in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, was named to the league’s All-Rookie team by the Pro Football Writers of America after posting 47 tackles (30 solo), a tackle for a loss, an interception, three passes defensed and a forced fumble in his first season in 2024.

Last season, Williams improved to 89 tackles (47 solo), four tackles for loss, a team-high three interceptions and five passes defensed in a career-high 16 games and 15 starts. Williams was one of just two NFL players last season to record at least 85 tackles, four tackles for a loss, three interceptions and a fumble recovery and became the first Packers’ player to reach those marks since linebacker A.J. Hawk in 2010. Williams also had seven tackles (six solo) in the Packers’ playoff loss to the Chicago Bears, the second-highest total for Green Bay in the game.

The Fastest Seat in Sports is a custom INDYCAR SERIES car with a special back passenger seat that leads the starting field to the green flag at NTT INDYCAR SERIES races, including the 14-turn, 4.014-mile permanent road course in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

Wiliiams joins a long list of celebrated INDYCAR Fastest Seat in Sports passengers before fans on site and the FOX national broadcast. This high-speed, high-octane, super-charged thrill ride has been taken by the likes of Tom Brady, Simu Liu, Jon Bon Jovi, Lady Gaga, Channing Tatum and Rudy Pankow.

Tim Dugger headlines Fan Zone entertainment for Atlanta’s Night Race

HAMPTON, Ga. (June 17, 2026) – American country singer and songwriter Tim Dugger will get fans revved up for 400 miles of NASCAR action with a pre-race concert on Sunday evening, July 12.

Fans will enjoy Dugger’s tunes at the Cracker Barrel Fan Stage before NASCAR drivers hit EchoPark Speedway’s high banks for the Quaker State 400 Available at Walmart. Dugger’s concert will be free to attend for all fans attending Atlanta’s Night Race.

THIRD WAVE OF NHRA 75TH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE TICKETS FEATURES LEGENDARY NAMES

INDIANAPOLIS (June 17, 2026) – Set to close out the 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series regular season in style for its 75th anniversary campaign, NHRA officials announced the next group of commemorative tickets for the final four races of the regular season.

The special commemorative tickets will continue to feature NHRA legends past and present at the final four regular-season events during the celebratory year, including Brittany Force (Sonoma), Jim Dunn (Seattle), Ron Capps (Brainerd), and Shirley Muldowney, Joe Amato and Darrell Gwynn (Indianapolis).

The collector’s item gives fans a chance to celebrate 75 years of NHRA Drag Racing and the memorable moments – and legendary drivers – that have filled the past seven-plus decades of NHRA action.

The special ticket for the next four races to close out the 2026 regular season will include these NHRA legends:

  • Sonoma: Brittany Force will be the featured driver at the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals presented by PowerEdge on July 17-19 at Sonoma Raceway. Force, a two-time world champion, won at the popular track in 2022 en route to her world title and also made an incredible run of 343.16-mph at the track last year, setting the record at the time.
  • Seattle: Jim Dunn will be on the featured commemorative ticket for the Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals on July 24-26 at Pacific Raceways. Dunn, the legendary team owner, has been involved in the sport for more than 75 years. He was a two-time runner-up in Seattle and tuned his Funny Car to a win in 2008 with Tony Bartone behind the wheel.
  • Brainerd: Funny Car’s Ron Capps will be the featured commemorative ticket for the NHRA Brainerd Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway. Capps, a three-time Funny Car world champ, has enjoyed immense success at the facility, winning seven times at the track.
  • Indy: Shirley Muldowney, Joe Amato and Darrell Gwynn will be on the collector’s ticket at the world’s biggest drag race, the Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals, which takes place Sept. 2-7 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. The race will honor the historic legacy of Muldowney, a three-time world champion, Amato, a four-time Top Fuel champ and Gwynn.

Each commemorative ticket will be available for purchase online all year and will be distinctive to each race during NHRA’s milestone 2026 campaign. Previous tickets have included legends like Kenny Bernstein, Don Prudhomme, Don Garlits and Matt Hagan.

Next week’s Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals will feature Ohio native and NHRA legend Jim Head as one of the honored legends in Norwalk. The legendary driver and team owner will be on the commemorative ticket, while Doug and Connie Kalitta will also be honored during the race.

At the events, fans can scan the on-site signs to purchase the commemorative ticket. The one-of-a-kind souvenir and collector’s items will also be available for purchase with a clear display holder. Each commemorative ticket will only be offered this season during NHRA’s 75th anniversary celebration.

The final group of commemorative tickets will be released in the coming weeks for the six races in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs (Michigan, Rockingham, St. Louis, Dallas, Las Vegas and Pomona 2).

Next week in Norwalk, NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series qualifying will feature two rounds at 5 and 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday, June 26, and the final two rounds of qualifying on Saturday, June 27 at 12 and 2:30 p.m. Eliminations will begin at 11 a.m. ET on Sunday, June 28.

Sonoma Raceway Welcomes World Series Champion Manager Dusty Baker as Honorary Grand Marshal for Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Cup Series Race

SONOMA, Calif. (June 17, 2026) – Sonoma Raceway announced today that MLB World Series Champion manager and baseball icon Dusty Baker will serve as the Honorary Grand Marshal for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday, June 28.

As Honorary Grand Marshal, Baker will deliver the most famous words in motorsports — “Drivers, start your engines!” — signaling the start of Northern California’s premier NASCAR Cup Series event.

One of the most respected figures in professional sports, Baker enjoyed a distinguished 19-year Major League Baseball playing career before becoming one of the winningest managers in MLB history. He captured a World Series championship as manager of the Houston Astros in 2022 and remains one of only a handful of managers to lead five different franchises to postseason appearances.

Baker also shares a deep connection with Northern California through his successful tenure as manager of the San Francisco Giants from 1993 to 2002. During his decade in San Francisco, he led the Giants to three National League West division titles, earned National League Manager of the Year honors three times, and helped guide the franchise through one of its most memorable eras, making him a beloved figure among Bay Area sports fans.

Sonoma Raceway is a 2.52-mile, 12-turn road course and quarter-mile dragstrip located at Sears Point in Sonoma County, California. Built in 1968 the track is carved into rolling hills with 160 ft of total elevation change. It is host to one of the few NASCAR Cup Series races each year that are run on road courses. It is one of the world’s busiest racing facilities, with track activity scheduled an average of 340 days a year. NASCAR at Naval Base Coronado Weekend Schedule

This weekend, NASCAR travels to Naval Base Coronado in San Diego to compete in the first-ever NASCAR street course race on an active military base. The track layout will consist of a 16-turn, 3.4-mile street course.

As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary, NASCAR’s debut at Naval Base Coronado in San Diego marks a historic intersection of stock-car racing and military tradition.

NASCAR Hall of Famer Jimmie Johnson will join the competitors and pilot the No. 84 Legacy Motor Club Toyota in the Cup Series race. 

Justin Fantozzi, Goodyear director of racing for the Americas, spoke about the tires they will bring to the track for this one-of-a-kind event.

“Visiting a new track brings a new set of challenges for the industry, but one constant for the teams will be their Goodyear Racing Eagle tires. The road-course specification we introduced for the Cup Series last season will be raced for the ninth time this weekend,” He continued, stating that “we have seen consistent performance at other road and street courses. That familiarity gives teams a reliable baseline as they prepare for a new venue.”

Tire allotments for each team will include the following:

Cup Series: 9 dry-weather sets. This includes 5 new sets for the race – 1 for qualifying that transfers to the race and 3 for practice. Teams will also have 6 wet-weather sets available.

O’Reilly Auto Parts Series: 6 dry-weather sets. This includes 3 new sets for the race – 1 for qualifying that transfers to the race and 2 for practice. Teams will also have 4 wet-weather sets available.

GMG Racing Extends GT World Challenge Points Lead and Secures First Overall McLaren Trophy Win of The Season at Road Atlanta

BRASELTON, Georgia (June 17, 2026) – GMG Racing closed out the first half of the 2026 SRO America racing season the same way it started with an overall race win and a string of podium finishes that bolstered the points leads in more than one series championship after a competitive performance at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta last weekend.

The GMG Racing team and its formidable driver lineup went into SRO’s first appearance at Road Atlanta in 11 years leading five championships across three different SRO America racing series. The team and drivers left the 2.254 circuit just North of Atlanta successfully defending or extending points leads in all.

Longtime team driver Kyle Washington and his third-year co-driver Tom Sargent powered through the weekend’s featured three-hour GT World Challenge America powered by AWS race on Sunday that was a wet, hot and harried battle from the start to the checkered flag. Starting driver Washington and race closer Sargent fought to the finish in the No. 32 to secure their third podium finish in the year’s first three races, a class-leading streak that includes a pair of Pro-Am wins at Sonoma Raceway and Sebring International Raceway.

Coming into the race leading the GT World Challenge America driver and team championships by seven points, Washington, Sargent and the No. 32 team now have a season-high 12 point lead heading into a more than two month mid-season break in the SRO America schedule.

“The effort and drive from everybody at GMG Racing has been non-stop from the beginning of the year and months before the first race weekend of the season at Sonoma in March,” said GMG Racing Founder and Principal James Sofronas. “The preparation back at our headquarters operation at The Thermal Club, and the incredible commitment from our great drivers and amazing crew and engineers, is incredible. I am not surprised, honestly, to be in the position that we are at the mid-year break, and I have no doubts this amazing effort and focused discipline from all on the GMG Racing team will continue all season.”

Washington, who also contested the weekend’s GT America sprint race doubleheader, continues to deliver career-best driving stints as the starter in GT World Challenge America. The weekend’s hot and humid conditions provided another challenge he once again overcame.

“I overheated in the GT America race and we were just hoping to get my stint done in the endurance race,” Washington said. “So, with the team’s help and Tom’s driving, we were thrilled to make it to third on the podium. Rain before the main race cooled things down, but what really helped my stint was the caution near the end. With 20 minutes to go it was, well, a nice caution for me but not the two poor guys involved, but it really helped me with the heat.”

Sargent pressured the second place competitor to the checkered flag but ultimately settled for the final podium spot in third with an eye on the big picture.

“We had never been to Road Atlanta before, and Sonoma and Sebring have generally been our worst rounds, so it’s nice to check those three rounds off with huge success,” Sargent said. “Coming up, we are very fast when we go to Road America and even faster when we go to Barber Motorsports Park. It is kind of exciting knowing they are the next two rounds coming up after the big break, and obviously the end of the year at Indianapolis is always great. Still, a fair amount of rounds to go, and Indy is double points, but it is a good position to be in for sure, and a good thing for Kyle to see and be a main part of the great results. Two full years in the series now, going in our third year, and to see the results after the time, effort and money that has been put into it come back with this kind of performance makes everyone see the value and just push a little bit harder.”

The Road Atlanta weekend’s overall triumph was delivered by first-year GMG Racing McLaren Trophy America drivers Deniz Teoman and Jeff Cook who built on the momentum of their first Am-class win one race ago in Miami to secure the outright win in Sunday morning’s second and final race. Shaking off a narrowly called race start procedure penalty that took away any chance at victory on Saturday, Teoman and Cook rebounded with a pair of season-best stints from relatively deep on the grid on Sunday.

Cook took over from Teoman in a perfectly timed pit stop and driver change by the GMG Racing crew and went on to take the lead and outright victory. The overall win was the first for GMG Racing in McLaren Trophy since a dual one-two overall sweep by both GMG Racing entries last year at Circuit of The Americas (COTA).

Randy Highland also added to his and the team’s first-half season success as the only GMG Racing driver in SRO America competition to remain podium perfect this year. A pair of third-place Pro-Am finishes with co-driver Michael O’Brien in the No. 7 GMG Racing McLaren Artura Trophy at Road Atlanta have Highland a perfect five-for-five in victory lane visits this year.

“This was my first time at Road Atlanta,” Highland said. “What a great, great track. It’s very exciting to drive. Michael had great stints and I tried to keep as close as I could. The car felt really great.

A multiple championship winner in McLarens overseas, British driver O’Brien joined Highland one race ago at Miami and was also making his Road Atlanta debut.

“We kept the podium streak going and had lots of positives from Saturday’s race we took into Sunday,” O’Brien said. “Randy had a good start taking the green on Saturday and handed me the car in great condition. We just clicked off the laps and had a really solid drive.”

Next up for GMG Racing in SRO America competition is the Road America race weekend in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, August 28 – 30.

PLANO, Texas (June 17, 2026) – NASCAR makes its debut trip to Naval Base Coronado in San Diego, California, as the Cup, O’Reilly and Truck Series take on the new 3.4-mile street course in a historic weekend of stock car racing. Meanwhile, the ARCA Menards Series heads to Berlin Raceway in Michigan.

Toyota celebrates 700th Cup race … Sunday’s Cup Series race around Naval Base Coronado will be the 700th for Toyota in the NASCAR Cup Series since its series debut in 2007. To-date, Toyota has 213 Cup Series wins, along with 185 pole positions. Denny Hamlin, who captured Toyota’s 200th Cup Series win last season, holds the record for most Cup Series wins (61) and poles (46) with Toyota.

Hamlin on a heater … With his win last Sunday at Pocono Raceway, his record-extending eighth career win at the track, Hamlin has won three consecutive races, joining his triumphs at Nashville Superspeedway and Michigan International Raceway the two weeks prior. This is the first time in his historic career Hamlin has won three straight races, and now sitting at 64 overall career wins, he now stands alone in ninth on the Cup Series all-time wins list and is 12 victories behind Dale Earnhardt Sr. for eighth. Hamlin has also further cut into the Cup Series points lead, now just 19 points behind Tyler Reddick.

LEGACY MOTOR CLUB riding momentum … With two top-five finishes by John Hunter Nemechek (fourth) and Erik Jones (sixth) at Pocono last weekend, LEGACY MOTOR CLUB is riding momentum into the summer stretch of the 2026 Cup Series season. The fourth-place finish is the best for Nemechek this season and ties his career-best finish overall. For Jones, his sixth-place finish last weekend continues his strong run of late, which also includes his runner-up finish at Michigan two weeks ago. The team will field three Camrys this weekend as seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and team owner Jimmie Johnson will make his second, and final, scheduled start of the season.

Gibbs, Reddick eager to continue road course prowess … Ty Gibbs and Reddick have been strong on road courses of late and look to continue that success on the new Naval Base Coronado circuit this weekend. Gibbs has finished inside the top-10 in four of the last six Cup Series road course races dating back to the Chicago Street Race last season, while Reddick has top-10s in the last six. Reddick also captured victory in the first road course race this season at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) back in March.

Crews continues strong O’Reilly Series debut … With his second consecutive runner-up finish, and third overall this season last weekend at Pocono, Brent Crews continues his incredible debut season in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. The Toyota Development driver now has six top-fives and nine top-10s in just 13 starts, as he inches closer to his first career win. Crews has climbed inside the top 12 of the series points standings with seven races remaining before “The Chase.”

Jones on hot streak … Finishing eighth last weekend in Pocono, Brandon Jones now has top-10s in nine of the last 12 O’Reilly Series races dating back to Darlington Raceway in March. Through 17 races in 2026, Jones holds 10 top-10s and four top-fives, as well as his pole position last weekend in Pocono – Toyota’s 200th in the O’Reilly Series. Jones also sits fifth in the driver’s points standings entering this weekend in San Diego.

Johnson takes on Truck Series … Johnson is back behind the wheel this weekend, this time piloting the No. 1 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for TRICON Garage in Friday’s Truck Series race at Coronado Naval Base. This will be just the second career Trucks start for Johnson, who made his previous lone appearance in 2008 at Bristol.

Toyota Tundras in championship battle … Heading to San Diego this weekend, three Toyota Tundra TRD Pro drivers sit within the top-11 of the Truck Series championship full-time driver points standings. Kaden Honeycuttleads the way for Team Toyota, currently second in the standings, just 26 points out of the lead. Honeycutt has had a fantastic season to-date, with his win at Watkins Glen, along with eight top-fives and nine top-10s. In fourth sits Gio Ruggiero off the back of four top-fives and six top-10s this season. And in 11th is Stewart Friesen, who owns one top-five and three top-10s this season to-date. Friesen is just nine points out of the Chase field heading into this weekend.

NASCAR Regional Series – ARCA Menards Series

Reaves back in No. 18 … For the first time since Toledo Speedway in May, Max Reaves will pilot the No. 18 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing in the ARCA Menards Series, taking on this weekend at Berlin Raceway. In three starts so far this season, Reaves has two pole positions, along with three top-11 finishes. Reaves finished second in the race at Berlin last season after starting fourth.
