No. 32 Dollar General Chevrolet News and Notes
Sorenson Leading the Way – After three races in a still young 2011 season, Reed Sorenson finds himself on top of the Nationwide Series point standings. Even after a disappointing 11th-place finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Sorenson is ahead of second place Ricky Stenhouse Jr. by two points. Teammates Jason Leffler and Justin Allgaier are also in the top-five, ranking third and fifth respectively.
Sorenson At Bristol – In nine starts at the famed Bristol Motor Speedway, Sorenson owns one top-five and three top-10 finishes. His average start is 14.6 and average finish is 20.2.
Return to the Dollar General Chevy – Sorenson made his first 2011 start in the No. 30 Rexall Chevrolet two weeks ago in Las Vegas, but will make a return to the No. 32 Dollar General Chevy in Bristol. When the Nationwide Series heads west to Auto Club Speedway in two weeks, Sorenson will once again move to the No. 30 car as Mark Martin makes his second start in the No. 32.
Solid Start for No. 32 Dollar General Team – The No. 32 Dollar General team has put in three solid performances to start the 2011 season and is the only Nationwide Series team to have three top-five finishes to show for it. Sorenson locked in two fifth-place finishes in his two starts with Martin adding Turner Motorsports’ first win two weeks ago at Las Vegas.
Start of a new era for Turner Motorsports – The 2011 season marks the start of a new era for Turner Motorsports. The team has expanded in 2011 from a two-truck operation in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) to become the largest stand-alone multi-series team in NASCAR’s top-tier touring series, fielding three entries in the NCWTS and four entries in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS). Three of the team’s regular NNS drivers (Jason Leffler, Reed Sorenson and Justin Allgaier) have been pegged as viable contenders to win the 2011 NNS driver championship.
This Week’s Impala – Sorenson will pilot TMS-106 in this weekend’s Scott’s EZ Seed 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway. The No. 32 team raced this chassis in all four “new car” races last season (Daytona International Speedway, Michigan International Speedway, Richmond International Raceway and Charlotte Motor Speedway) where they recorded one top-five and three top-10 finishes with an average start of 17.5 and average finish of 10.5.

“Bristol is one of my favorite tracks that we go to on the circuit because it is just a fun place to race for us as drivers. In order to survive, you have to be focused and exercise a ton of patience. This No. 32 team has been on quite a roll to start the season and I’m excited to be back with them again this weekend to try and continue that trend. The win for Dollar General and Turner Motorsports in Las Vegas was a big deal and I know that we will all be working hard to try and repeat that.”
