SECOND CREW MEMBER STEPHEN ‘DIRT’ MASCH DIES TODAY FROM RICK WARE RACING

(Mooresville, NC) Rick Ware Racing has received more devastating news that crew member Stephen “Dirt” Masch has lost his fight for survival today March 23, 2011, after he was paralyzed by the fatal crash that killed fellow friend and crew member Dean Shaut on Friday March 11th, 2011.

Steve suffered a fracture to his C5 vertebra from the accident, which had paralyzed him. He underwent a grueling ten-hour surgery last week to stabilize his neck, and was never able to fully recover from it. Steve came down with Pneumonia, and the infection in his body eventually was too much for Steve to overcome.

His parents Gary and Betty, and his three siblings, Mike, Laura, and Bethany survive Steve.

“Steve passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends. Our family is grateful for all the prayers and support. We know that he is resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus now and that we will see him again.” Stated the Masch family.

“This is absolutely horrific for these families,” said team owner Rick Ware. “We have had so many people from within the NASCAR community sending their thoughts and prayers to both families. We hope people will reach out and donate to these families to assist in their expenses.”

Rick Ware Racing has set up an account at SunTrust Bank and is pleading for donations to assist the families with their tremendous losses and expenses.
