It’s narrow but you can really drive it hard and normally the harder you drive it the better off you are, except I think I was driving a little too hard the last time I was there [smile]. We were really fast, just got to make sure not to over-drive Turn 3. That seemed to get us in trouble there. And you’ve got to stay off the Turn 2 wall.”
IS THERE ONE SPOT ON THE TRACK THAT’S MORE CHALLENGING THAN ANY OTHER? “Turn 3 is pretty tough. You’ve just got to make sure you get slowed down enough to get it into Turn 3. It’s a lot tighter than one and two.”
THERE IS A LOT MORE CONFIDENCE WITHIN THIS TEAM AND HIGHER EXPECTATIONS THIS SEASON. WHAT HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST REASON FOR THE TURNAROUND IN SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME? “As an organization I think it’s just a testament to how hard Roush Fenway and Ford Racing and all the engineers have worked over simulation and the engine package and chassis package. Our team is staying focused. We know we can do it. We’ve got the speed and if we stay focused and minimize our mistakes we know we can win this championship and win some races. That’s what we’ve been focused on all year.”
