KANSAS CITY, Kan. (May 26, 2011) – NASCAR’s most decorated driver will give the command to start engines for the inaugural STP 400 at Kansas Speedway. Known simply as “The King”, Petty’s association with STP made him a natural selection for the June 5th event.
“As our partnership with STP developed we became excited at the many opportunities it presented. STP’s return to the sport and longtime relationship with Richard lends an element of our sport’s history to Kansas Speedway.” said Pat Warren, president of Kansas Speedway.
Petty, winner of a record 200 races, seven NASCAR Cup championships and inaugural inductee into NASCAR’s Hall of Fame, will have a busy weekend at Kansas Speedway. On Friday morning at 9 AM, “The King” will be available to the media in the track’s infield media center. From 9-9:30 AM Saturday, he will conduct a question and answer session in the Sprint Fan Walk located between the Sprint Cup and Camping World Truck Series garages. Fans can participate in Saturday morning’s Q & A by purchasing Sprint Fan Walk tickets online at http://www.kansasspeedway.com www.kansasspeedway.com or by calling 866.460.RACE.
