CORNELIUS, N.C.—No. 56 NAPA AUTO PARTS driver Martin Truex Jr. will put the power of NAPA KNOW HOW to good use in the Kansas City area Thursday night when he and his Michael Waltrip Racing crew members collect donations for the victims of the Joplin, Mo. tornado.
Truex will collect donations and sign autographs 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Bass Pro Shops in Olathe, Kan. The first 200 fans who donate items like canned foods, blankets or toiletry items will receive a free autographed No. 56 die cast. Car owner Michael Waltrip will join Truex from 7:15-8 p.m.
Fans outside the Kansas City area also have a way to help. Truex and David Reutimann car hoods, fire suits, gloves and shoes worn during Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Kansas Speedway will be available through the NASCAR Unites online auction at www.NASCAR.com/unites.

• Also on Thursday from 6-8 p.m., No. 00 Aaron’s/TUMS Toyota team members and driver David Reutimann along with JTG Daugherty Racing’s No. 47 Clorox Toyota driver Bobby Labonte will host collections at the Aaron’s store located at 12108 Shawnee Mission Parkway in Shawnee, Kan. Waltrip will also be in attendance from 6 to 6:45 p.m.
• Sunday’s race marks Truex’s 202nd NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start. In five starts at Kansas Speedway, he has one top-15 and three top-20 finishes. He has led 32 laps of competition. His average start is 17th and finish is 26th.
