No. 11 Shore Lodge Team Notes of Interest

. Brian Scott and the No. 11 Shore Lodge Toyota team travel to Kentucky Speedway for this weekend’s Feed the Children 300 in what will be his second career start at the 1.5-mile speedway in NASCAR Nationwide Series competition.

. While Scott only has one previous Nationwide Series start at Kentucky, he has been competing at the Sparta, Ky., track since 2007 when he competed at the track in the ARCA series. Scott picked up a 13th-place finish after starting that 100-lap race from the 19th position. Scott made the most of that first ever Kentucky race and came back a year later to earn the pole during the 2008 ARCA Series event. He led 13 laps and finished the race in the fifth position.

. Scott also has two starts at Kentucky in NASCAR Truck Series competition. Scott finished 32nd during the 2008 Truck Series race after an engine failure. One year later he picked up a sixth-place finish after starting from the front row in second place. Scott led 29 laps in route to the top-10 finish in 2009.

. The No. 11 Shore Lodge Toyota team will take Chassis #122 to this weekend’s race at Kentucky Speedway. This chassis has been used by the team twice in 2011 and it has been raced to successful results. Scott has earned top-10 finishes in each of the races in which Chassis #122 was used. He finished 10th at Texas in April with the chassis and followed that up with an eighth-place finish at Charlotte in May. The backup car is Chassis #106 and it has not been raced during the 2011 season.

. Last Race: Scott teamed up with veteran driver Kenny Wallace as tandem racing occurred throughout the 250-mile race at Daytona International Speedway last Friday night. Scott and Wallace hooked up near the halfway point in the race and competed together throughout the closing laps. The duo were competing in the top 10 when an accident took place coming out of turn four as the field was coming to the checkered flag. Scott was caught up in the accident but still managed to cross the finish line in the 12th position.

. Scott remains ninth in the NASCAR Nationwide Series driver point standings. He is 13 points out of eighth place behind Steven Wallace.

. Scott will be a part of a group of Toyota drivers participating in a visit to the TEMA facility in Erlanger, Ky., on Wednesday, July 6 prior to the NASCAR race weekend at Kentucky Speedway. TEMA is the Toyota Manufacturing and Engineering headquarters. All participating drivers will be available to the media between 11:15 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.

Scott Quotes

What can we expect from Daytona this weekend?

“Kentucky has always been a great track for me going back to my days in the Camping World Truck Series. I’ve had some good runs there in the Trucks and in the ARCA series. I’ve b been able to run up front a lot. I feel like this No. 11 Shore Lodge Joe Gibbs Racing team will have a lot of speed this weekend so this is definitely a race I am looking forward to and consider it to be one of the better tracks for me personally.”
