Cornelius, NC – There aren’t very many instances where Frank Kimmel is put in uncharted territory driving a race car. This is especially true in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. Frank Kimmel has pretty much conquered any and every track on the schedule over the course of his illustrious career.
However, this coming race week, Kimmel will be at a track he has never won at – Lucas Oil Raceway (“LOR”) for the Ansell Protective Gloves 200. In fact, he has only raced there once before. In 2001 Frank raced in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. It’s also worth mentioning that Frank is from Indiana, and any time he gets a chance to race in his home state he tends to drive a little bit harder.
The idea of racing at a track he is relatively unfamiliar with has excited Frank Kimmel, “It’s pretty awesome that we’re getting to race at LOR for the first time in twenty-some odd years. I’m pretty anxious to get out on the track and put a few laps under my belt.”
What makes this particular ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards race at Lucas Oil Raceway even more distinct for Frank Kimmel is that one of his primary sponsors, Ansell Protective Gloves, is sponsoring the race. “I would love to go out there and win this one for Ansell,” said Kimmel. “They’ve been great to me over the past few years and it would a lot if I could repay them by ending up in the winner’s circle at the race they’re sponsoring.”

Activities for Frank Kimmel begin with two Menards store location visits on Wednesday, July 27th, as the driver is set to sign autographs, pose for pictures, and even offer a special promotion to store customers. Kimmel will appear at the Fishers Menards location off of exit 3 on I-69 – 7145 E. 96th Street – at 4:00 p.m. He will then visit the Avon Menards location near the Rockville Plaza Shopping Center – 10555 East U.S. Highway 36 – at 6:30 p.m. Each appearance will last 90 minutes. Store visitors can take advantage of a special promotion at either location, simply by purchasing a pair of Ansell gloves inside the store. Those purchasing Ansell gloves inside Menards will receive a voucher for a free second pair of gloves, personally handed over by Kimmel outside the store.

Finally, on Thursday night, Frank Kimmel intends to drive his way to Victory Lane at Lucas Oil Raceway in the Ansell Protective Gloves 200. In doing so, Frank Kimmel will look to make history by becoming the first winner at LOR for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards in a-little-over a quarter century.
