The Home Depot Team Notes of Interest

· Joey Logano and The Home Depot Team have been on a roll lately in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Logano has gained a total of five positions over the last four races in the Sprint Cup Series driver point standings. He has gone from the 23rd position and 50 points out of the top 15 heading into Sonoma, to 18th and 13 points out of the top 15 leading into this weekend’s Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS).

· This will be Logano’s third Brickyard 400 on Sunday in The Home Depot Toyota. Despite dropping to the rear of the field in both his starts at the famed track due to engine changes, Logano has an average finish of 10.5 that includes a ninth-place run last year. Crew chief Greg Zipadelli has guided the No. 20 car to victory lane twice at IMS in 13 starts as crew chief for The Home Depot Team, and has four top-five and seven top-10 finishes in total at the track.

· Meet Logano! Logano will participate in the track autograph session on Saturday outside the Pavillion at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In what IMS is calling the “largest Sprint Cup autograph session of the season,” Logano will be signing for ticket holders from 1 to 1:45 p.m. For more information, visit www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com.

· About the last race: The Home Depot Team stuck to its game plan on Sunday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, and the strategy paid off for the No. 20 Team. Crew chief Zipadelli’s call to bring Logano into the pits while running second with 74 laps to go for right-side tires and fuel proved to be a great decision as Logano finished the 301-lap race in the fourth position.

· Zipadelli and the No. 20 Home Depot Team elected to bring a new chassis, #316, this weekend to compete at IMS. The back-up chassis is #303 that Logano tested on the Thursday of Kentucky and most recently ran at Michigan International Speedway in June.

· Welcome aboard The Home Depot associates from store #3662 in Steele Creek, N.C. The store number will ride along with Logano this weekend in Indianapolis. Steele Creek is located just outside of Charlotte, the hub of NASCAR race teams.

Logano Quotes:

On Indianapolis

“I can’t wait to get to Indy, but I think when you are running well you always look forward to going to the next race. After the weekend off, I’m fired up to get back at it with the momentum we have. I’m actually really excited about this race and to see how we will do if we can start where we qualify. Track position is so important at Indianapolis because it is so hard to pass. It was a battle to get the finishes we’ve had after starting in the rear two years in a row after changing engines.

“I know we are bringing a new chassis this weekend and Zippy (Zipadelli) always brings fast cars to Indy. The big question mark will be the tires. Goodyear is bringing a different tire this year. The first practice is going to be really important to see how close the balance of the car will be off the truck.”
