No. 56 NAPA BRAKES Toyota

Richmond International Raceway

CORNELIUS, N.C. – No. 56 NAPA Brakes Toyota driver Martin Truex Jr. has a lot on the line in Saturday night’s regular season finale at Richmond International Raceway. The Michael Waltrip Racing driver is one of 13 drivers eligible for one of two “Wild Card” spots in the 2011 Chase. A win and some bad luck by other drivers can earn a berth in the Chase for Truex who led 12 laps in the April race before a mechanical issue ended his bid for the victory.

Crew Chief Chad Johnston on NAPA team’s chances at Richmond: “I think as a team, we are in a really good position. The team is peaking at the right time. The chemistry is better than ever and it continues to get better. The driver wants this more now than I think he ever has showed it – if that’s possible. I think as a team, we are in a position to make the Chase and if we don’t, we will not accept anything less than a 13th-place finish in the point standings. Richmond is it. We’ll take what we’ve learned since the first race and make our car even better. This race is going to be fun.”

Martin Truex Jr. on Chase Bid: “This weekend is going to be unbelievable. NASCAR is looking like a real genius right now since they came up with the wild cards. There are 13 of us that have a shot at getting in. This is a cool deal. This NAPA team is so pumped. We’ve been running well and I feel like we are on the verge of breaking out and being a team that’s talked about week in and week out. Last time at Richmond, we had a super-fast NAPA Toyota. It was our race to win, until the mechanical issue. It was a heartbreaker and we’re ready to finish off the deal. We are going to Richmond to win — regardless of how the points end up. I feel we can win and hopefully the rest will fall in place for us.”

Truex on NAPA’s Great Brakes Promotion: “This season NAPA has put together some great promotions to help customers save money on parts like tune ups, batteries and now brakes. This Great Breaks on Great Brakes promo is no exception. I’m glad NAPA is using Richmond to run the paint scheme to spread the word to fans who may need new brakes or brake products. The $50 mail-in rebate will certainly help customers get their cars in good running condition.”
