“We ran really well at Richmond so I’m pretty excited about racing at New Hampshire. I was nervous about it until that Richmond run. Hopefully we can run that well at New Hampshire. If we were to win there it would be huge for Roush Fenway, for the Chase and for me personally to win a Cup race at one of my toughest tracks.”

“New Hampshire is a challenging track and the race often comes down to fuel mileage. Carl runs well there, although our results don’t always show that. We worked on a few things during the race there in July to prepare for this Chase race, so hopefully we will be able to capitalize now on our work a few months ago.”

CARL EDWARDS enters New Hampshire Motor Speedway third in the NASCAR Sprint Cup point standings, only 10 points behind the leader. In 27 starts this season, Edwards has accumulated one win, 13 top-five and 18 top-10 finishes, as well as two poles.
FOR THE RECORD…In 14 NSCS starts at NHMS, Edwards has achieved two top-five and two top-10 finishes. Edwards’ best finish at Loudon is second place, captured in July of 2006, and his best start was in September of 2008, where he rolled off second, however qualifying was cancelled due to rain and the grid was set by owners’ points.
Edwards has completed 4164 of 4167 (99.9%) of the laps he has attempted at Loudon and has led 70 laps. He has an average start of 14.9 and an average finish of 14.4.
ON THE TRACK…The No. 99 team will be bringing RK-782 this weekend to New Hampshire. This was a brand new car in July when it finished 13th at New Hampshire. The car will sport a new Scotts Winterguard paint scheme.
REWIND, LOUDON SEPTEMBER 2010… The Aflac crew made its final two-tire stop on lap 226 while some teams elected to stay out and gamble on fuel. Although the stop put Edwards back in 15th place, he finished 11th as opposed to the drivers who ran out of gas on the final lap.
