Harvick Spreads Alcohol Responsibility Message with Special Paint Scheme

Paint Scheme and Fire Suit to Debut Sept. 25 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway Race

[media-credit name=”Global Be(er) Responsible Day” align=”alignright” width=”300″][/media-credit]ST. LOUIS (Sept. 20, 2011) – This Friday Budweiser employees around the United States will celebrate Global Be(er) Responsible Day, a day of outreach to encourage alcohol responsibility and the use of designated drivers. Budweiser and NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick are helping spread the message and will debut a special “Designate a Driver” paint scheme for this Sunday’s race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Visit Budweiser’s Facebook page ( http://www.facebook.com/Budweiser www.facebook.com/Budweiser) to watch a video from Harvick about Global Be(er) Responsible Day, when more than 1,500 Anheuser-Busch employees across the United States will join local wholesalers to encourage the use of designated drivers. Adults can also take the pledge on Budweiser’s Facebook page to be, or use, a designated driver. Thousands of consumers who take the pledge will be eligible, where legal, to win a Budweiser hat with a designated driver message.

“I’ve been racing with the bowtie on my hood since February and it’s been great to see how dedicated everyone at Budweiser is about brewing quality beer,” Harvick said. “It’s also great to see their commitment made toward raising awareness about everyone’s favorite driver- the designated driver.”

“We encourage everyone 21 and over to visit Budweiser’s Facebook page and sign up to be a designated driver,” said Rob McCarthy, vice president, Budweiser. “Show your support for the important role that designated drivers play in enjoying the great times.”

Harvick enters Sunday’s Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with four wins, eight top-five and 14 top-10 finishes in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) competition so far this season and currently leads the NSCS driver point standings.
