Ron Hornaday
No. 2 Hollywood Casino Chevrolet Silverado
NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race 20 of 25 – Kentucky Speedway
THIRD TIMES A CHARM: The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will return to Kentucky Speedway this weekend for the second time this season. Four-time series champion Ron Hornaday will be behind the wheel of the No. 2 Hollywood Casino Chevrolet Silverado looking to add to his record at the track. The Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) driver has seven Truck Series starts, two wins, two top-five and four top-10 finishes and has led a total of 99 laps led at the 1.5-mile tri-oval. Hornaday is also chasing his record 50th win in the series.
GAMBLE IN KENTUCKY: The No. 2 KHI Chevrolet will debut the black, white and gold Hollywood Casino paint scheme during the Kentucky 225 on Saturday afternoon. The Penn National Gaming Inc. brand has over 13 Hollywood Casinos around the country in 10 different states with their headquarters based in Reading, Pennsylvania.
HEAT OF THE BATTLE: With only six races left in the season, the No. 2 KHI Truck Series team is in the running for the Owner’s Championship, leading the No. 18 team by 33 points heading into Kentucky. Hornaday is currently fifth in the Driver’s Point standings, 47 markers from the lead.
CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 2 KHI team will race chassis No. 061 this weekend at Kentucky Speedway. This chassis was most recently driven by Clint Bowyer at Atlanta Motor Speedway on September 2 and KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick at Chicagoland Speedway on September 16. Both drivers qualified and finished second for the events.
MOST POPULAR DRIVER: There is still plenty of time to vote for the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Most Popular Driver award. Hornaday has taken home the honors twice, most recently in 2005 and 1997. Fans can vote for Hornaday now through November 17 on NASCAR.com.
PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: In his seventh Truck Series appearance of the season, Kevin Harvick piloted the No. 2 JEGS Chevrolet to a solid third-place finish during the F.W. Webb 175 last Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway after starting from the second position. The solid finish kept the No. 2 entry in the lead of the Truck Series Owner’s Point standings, 33 points in front of second.
HORNADAY’S THOUGHTS ON KENTUCKY:
What are you most looking forward to at Kentucky?
“I’m excited to go back to Kentucky Speedway. Back in the spring race, I was racing too hard early on and got tangled up. We are looking for a good run and to stay in championship contention for both this No. 2 team and for myself in the driver’s standings. We only have six races left in the schedule and its go time. We also have Hollywood Casino on board this weekend. They have a casino not far from the track in Lawrenceburg, Indiana and will have a great group on hand for the race. It’d be great to get this Hollywood Casino Chevrolet into victory lane.”
