Post-Race Quotes
BRAD KESELOWSKI (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger) Finished Fourth CAN YOU TALK ABOUT YOUR RACE? “It’s crazy and you just can’t predict what’s going to happen. It’s just a crapshoot. You just hope that you’re in the right position and it takes a team effort to do that. The Miller Lite Dodge team did that today and came up just a bit short.”
WAS IT WILD? “Absolutely. You’re just running into each other; just a bunch of angry drivers in a traffic jam. It’s difficult. You try to put yourself in the right position. It just didn’t work out.”
DO YOU LIKE THIS STYLE OF RACING? “I like it when I win. I had a good run. I had a good run when we didn’t have this style of racing. It doesn’t really matter to me.”
PAUL WOLFE (Crew Chief, No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger) “What a wild night, a lot of torn up race cars. I hope the 500 isn’t this bad.”
DID THE STYLE OF RACING SURPRISE YOU? “It’s just a different style of racing. It’s back to the big pack of racing and when you have a mishap, a lot of cars get collected. Overall for the Miller Lite Dodge team, it was a good night. We put ourselves in position to win the race at the end and just came up short.”
WAS YOUR STRATEGY TO STAY IN THE BACK BECAUSE OF THE PACK RACING? “Our plan was to see how the race played out and do the opposite of what the leaders were doing. They were dicing it up pretty hard at the beginning and there wasn’t really anything to be gained to get up to the front that early. Our strategy played out like we thought the race was going to run. It eliminated a lot of cars that we didn’t have to race and we were able to keep our car clean.”
A.J. ALLMENDINGER (No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Dodge Charger) Finished 12th “I think we were about a half-of-a-corner from being perfect. I got to the outside and got attached to (Jamie) McMurray, pushing him. I thought man, if we got off four coming to the white, it was game over for everybody because we were so clean and had such a run. It’s just one of those things. At times, I thought our Shell/Pennzoil Dodge was really fast and there were other times when I thought it wasn’t very good. That’s just the way this racing is. If you time it right and get the right run, you can pull it off. If we got off four it would have been between me and the 1 (McMurray) for the win. It’s disappointing. We’ve got some things to work on. But we learned some things. We’ll try it again in the (Daytona) 500.”
