Kenseth on racing at Phoenix International Raceway:
“Phoenix is still a little bit of an unknown since they just repaved the track last year and the surface is still so new. The pavement was very slick at the start when we came out here for testing as well as for the race at the end of the season, but I felt that the track got better and better as the race went on last November. I think everyone is anxious to get on the track Friday and see what the weekend has in store for us.”
Crew chief Jimmy Fennig on racing at Phoenix International Raceway:
“We had a really good car the last time we raced at Phoenix in the Fall and it was great to start from the pole. The plan for this weekend is to use a very similar set-up to what we ran last November, and then continue to tweak and adjust during practice on Friday. We’ll make sure that we focus on handling and race trim during practice in order to give Matt the best car we can for Sunday’s race.”
