Ken Schrader and Federated Auto Parts Debut with FAS Lane Racing

[media-credit name=”lvms.com” align=”alignright” width=”300″][/media-credit]LAS VEGAS, NV. (March 8, 2012) – Coming off a second solid race to the beginning of the season, FAS Lane Racing announces the 2012 debut of Ken Schrader with sponsorship from Federated Auto Parts.  FAS Lane Racing heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway where Schrader will pilot the No. 32 Federated Auto Parts Ford in the running of the Kobalt Tools 400.

“Having Federated Auto Parts as a part of our program this season is a great honor,” stated FAS Lane Racing team owner Frank Stoddard. “Schrader ran some races with us last year and to have him back in our No. 32 Federated Auto Parts Ford this year provides our program with some additional stability.  Ken did a great job for us last year and we look to continue on with our strong start to the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. Ken and Federated have come on board for nine races this year and that is a great addition to the efforts of this young team.”

FAS Lane Racing and their No. 32 Ford has gotten off to a very solid start to the 2012 season with a 18th place finish in the season opening Daytona 500 with Terry Labonte and followed that up with a 24th place finish last week in Phoenix with Mike Bliss.  While currently locked into the top-35 in owners points for the first five races of this season, the team currently sits 20th in the 2012 overall owners points standings which becomes important starting with the sixth race of the season.

“Frank (Stoddard) has done a great job of building this FAS Lane Racing team,” said Ken Schrader.  “I enjoyed the races I ran with them last year and because I saw what Frank was doing I wanted the opportunity to run more races in the No. 32 this coming year.  I want to thank my long time sponsor Federated Auto Parts for joining the FAS Lane Racing team this year and making this all possible.”

The running of the Kobalt Tools 400 will air nationwide on FOX from Las Vegas Motor Speedway Sunday, March 11th at 3:00 p.m. EST.

About FAS Lane Racing:  FAS Lane Racing was established in 2011 when Frank Stoddard’s old team, Latitude 43 Motorsports, closed its doors. Stoddard formed his own team with the remaining crew members and purchased the cars and equipment from Roush Racing. Stoddard chose the No. 32 in tribute to his racing mentor Stub Fadden, who was a Busch North Series racer from New England who used the number 16, hence 16 x 2 = 32.  FAS Lane Racing used a variety of drivers to secure a position in the Top 35 in owner’s points thus ensuring them a guaranteed starting spot heading into the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.
