Roush Fenway Moves Into Kansas One-Two in Points

Fresh off last week’s dominating sweep of Texas Motor Speedway, Roush Fenway heads to another 1.5-mile track where it will look to replicate the success of last weekend, where the team placed three Fords inside the top eight of Saturday night’s race.

Greg Biffle used his commanding performance in Texas last week to extend his Sprint Cup points lead to 19; Biffle has led the points for all but two weeks in 2012. Matt Kenseth used his top-five finish to move into second place in the points, while Carl Edwards is currently 11th.

RFR at Kansas

Roush Fenway has made 56 Sprint Cup starts at Kansas Speedway, winning three times and collecting 15 top-five and 27 top-10 finishes.

Winning at Kansas

Two different drivers have won a total of three races for RFR at Kansas. Mark Martin won Roush Fenway’s first Cup race in Kansas in 2005 and Greg Biffle bested the 1.5-mile track in 2007 and 2010. RFR’s first win at Kansas came in 2002 via Jeff Burton in the Nationwide Series. Three drivers (Jon Wood, 2003), (Carl Edwards, 2004) and (Erik Darnell, 2007) have won in the NASCAR Truck Series for Roush Fenway. Biffle is Roush Fenway’s winningest driver at Kansas, boasting the two Sprint Cup wins at the track.

Roush Fenway has led exactly 800 laps in Sprint Cup action at Kansas Speedway, with six different drivers having led in RFR Fords at Kansas. In fact, Roush Fenway entries have led in the Sprint Cup Series at Kansas in 26 of 56 entries. RFR has led a total of 1,357 laps in NASCAR action at Kansas, including 328 in the NNS Series and 229 in the Truck Series.

Texas Two-Step

Roush Fenway dominated the NASCAR circuit in Texas last weekend, winning both the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series events with Biffle and Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and placing two cars inside the top five in Saturday night’s Cup race. RFR has now won 303 times in NASCAR action.
