(MOORESVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA) May 22, 2012 – After five straight weekends on the road, Jason Bowles and his American Majority team will be able to sleep in their own beds this weekend. Just 30 minutes from the MacDonald Motorsports shop, Charlotte Motor Speedway will host the NASCAR Nationwide Series this Saturday in the History 300. Bowles and his team and excited for the opportunity to race in front of their friends and family.
Jason on Charlotte…..“Charlotte is a track that I’ve been to a number of times but have never had the chance to race at. I’ll have a lot of friends at the track cheering me and my American Majority No. 81 Toyota on and I think we are going to can give them something to get excited about. Being able to sleep in my own bed this weekend will be nice of course too.”
Jason’s thoughts on Iowa….. “It’s great to get another top-20 finish and the guys on my American Majority No. 81 really earned their paychecks this week. The car was tight at the beginning but got better and better as the race wore on. I’m really glad Randy gave me a chance to run the K&N Pro Series race this weekend as well. The competition in that series is second to none and I’m happy with our top-15 run.”
10 races in…..It’s hard to believe that we are already 10 races into the 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series season. Through those 10 races, Bowles’ has four top-20 finishes and six top-25’s. Jason’s best qualifying effort was a tenth in Las Vegas and his best finish was a 15th in California.
Crew Chief John Monsam…..“I’m very pleased with the progress our team has been making in almost every area. The preparation in the shop, our racetrack changes, and our pit crew have all been getting a lot stronger and I think we will continue to improve in the coming weeks.”
New home track for Bowles…..Following Jason’s move from California to Mooresville, NC in 2010, Jason has adopted Charlotte Motor Speedway as his new home track. Although he has never raced on the lightning fast 1.5 mile D-shaped oval before, Jason makes his living in the area working for Oakley as their Motorsports Sales Representative.
Watch the race…..Fans can watch Jason in the History 300 this Saturday at 2:30pm EST on ABC.
