Roush Fenway in the 600

Roush Fenway cars have made 85 starts in the famed Coca-Cola 600, having turned in 20 top-five and 30 top-10 finishes in NASCAR’s longest event. Roush Fenway Fords have posted an average finish of 16.6 in 23 Coke 600s at Charlotte and an average start of 21.9.

Last Season in the 600

Last year all four of RFR’s Fords led in the 600 for a combined 221 laps. Matt Kenseth led 103 laps and Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards each led over 50 laps. David Ragan led only seven laps, but had RFR’s top finish in second. Kenseth’s 103 laps led was the most an RFR driver has led in the 600 since 2001.

Last Season at Charlotte

In 2012 RFR had one of its best seasons ever at CMS, sweeping both NNS races, while winning the Sprint All-Star Showdown and Challege, as well as winning the fall Cup race and finishing runner up in the 600.

Four in a Row

Roush Fenway won a record four Coca-Cola 600’s in a row from 1999-2002. During that span Roush Fenway led 427 laps, including 201 of 400 laps in the 1999 event.

More Roush Fenway in the 600

RFR had its best overall outing in the Coca-Cola 600 in 2006, when its five entries averaged a 5.4 finish. Roush Fenway Fords finished third, fourth, fifth, seventh and eighth, while leading 52 laps in the event. In 2002, Roush Fenway posted its only one-two finish in the event with Mark Martin and Matt Kenseth battling feverishly for the win and combining to lead 67 laps in the race (with Martin taking the win).

Roush Fenway first in the 600

Matt Kenseth won the first of his 22 NASCAR Sprint Cup races in the 2000 Coca-Cola 600, leading 32 laps in his first career 600.

Leading the Way in the 600

Roush Fenway has led a total of 1,124 laps in the Coca-Cola 600, having led in 19 of the 24 600-mile events. Roush Fenway has led at least one lap in 12 of the last 13 Coca-Cola 600 races. Last season all four RFR drivers led in the 600 for a total of 221 laps.

Roush Fenway Bests the ‘The Beast’

Roush Fenway has won eight Cup races at Charlotte, while leading 2,337 laps and bringing home 41 top fives, 68 top 10s and two poles at the ‘Beast of the Southeast.’

In the Nationwide Series at Charlotte

In 90 starts, Roush Fenway Racing has won 12 times in the Nationwide Series at Charlotte, the second most at any track. Roush Fenway Nationwide Fords have accumulated 32 top-five and 48 top-10 finishes, while running to a company-best 13 poles at the 1.5-mile track. Mark Martin earned Roush Fenway’s first Nationwide win at Charlotte in the fall of ‘93.  He then went on to win three straight, fall ‘95 and a sweep in ‘96, followed by wins in the spring of ‘98 and ‘99.
