JASON BOWLES, NO. 81 AMERICAN MAJORITY TOYOTA CAMRY DOVER INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY PREVIEW

[media-credit name=”doverspeedway.com” align=”alignright” width=”281″][/media-credit](MOORESVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA) May 29, 2012 – The Monster Mile is next up on the schedule for 29 year old Jason Bowles and his American Majority team. Arguably one of the toughest tracks on the NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule, Dover is a one mile, high backed concrete oval that tests even the most experienced of drivers.  Jason will attempt to tame the Monster in his first start there this Saturday in the 5-Hour Energy 200.

Jason on Dover…..“Dover is a track that really tests the driver and I’m looking forward to it.  With the high banks and concrete surface it really sets itself apart from the other tracks on the schedule.  The guys are working extremely hard in the shop this week after our crash at Charlotte to be ready for this weekend.  There is a lot to be done but I know they will have my American Majority No. 81 Camry ready to go for practice on Friday.”

Jason’s thought’s on Charlotte…..“This was definitely an up-and-down weekend for the team and me.  Practice was a struggle getting the car to turn and ended with my run in with the wall.  The guys did an outstanding job getting the American Majority car back together and I couldn’t be happier with the 15th place qualifying run.  The car was good during the race and I think we were in position for a possible top-15 run before we got caught up in another person’s issue.  That’s racing and we’ll get it fixed and be back next weekend in Dover.”

Long stretch coming…..After this weekend’s race in Dover, the boys on the American Majority team will get a well deserved break with a rare off weekend on the schedule.  Starting with Michigan on June 16th, the American Majority guys will be on the road for 17 straight weeks.  The next off weekend on the schedule doesn’t come until October following the second Dover race.

Hard work last week in Charlotte…..After contact with the turn two wall Thursday in practice at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the MacDonald Motorsports guys had a long Friday in store for them.  After spending their entire off day in the shop working on the primary car, the team was ready for Qualifying and the race on Saturday.  The boys did an excellent job getting the American Majority No. 81 Toyota back together and the hard work paid off.  The 15th place qualifying run was the third best of the season thus far and everyone was very satisfied with the result.

Watch the race…..Fans can watch Jason in the 5-Hour Energy 200 this Saturday at 1:30pm EST on ESPN2.
