Success in the Bluegrass State… Hornaday heads to Kentucky Speedway for this weekend’s UNOH 225 to defend his title as the October 2011 NCWTS race winner. In eight starts at the 1.5-mile tri-oval, Hornaday has led 141 laps en route to three wins, one pole, three top-five and five top-10 finishes. This Week’s No. 9 Chevrolet Silverado… Hornaday will pilot chassis No. 06 in this weekend’s UNOH 225 at Kentucky Speedway. This is the same Joe Denette Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado that Hornaday piloted to a sixth-place finish at Kansas Speedway in April, a season-best finish of fifth at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May and a 27th-place finish at Dover Int’l Raceway.

Rearview Mirror-Texas… Hornaday started ninth and finished 12th in the WinStar World Casino 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. The defending race winner fought a loose-handling Chevrolet Silverado for most of the 167-lap event which proved to challenge the team for the duration of the race. The solid finish was the veteran driver’s fourth top-12 finish of the season.

Get to the Point… Hornaday is currently ninth in the 2012 NCWTS driver point standings heading into this weekend’s event in the Blue Grass State, just 29 points out of fifth and 54 points behind leader, Justin Lofton.

A Penny For Your Thoughts…

From the driver, Ron Hornaday…

“Kentucky is a really fast race track, and the bumps make it very unique. I’ve got three wins there and I’m looking for my fourth and the first for Joe and everyone at Joe Denette Motorsports this week. We obviously haven’t run as well in the first seven races as everyone has expected, but we are learning as a team and making the right changes to get this team consistent every weekend and into victory lane. We are still looking for partners to help build this program and make it stronger. However, Joe is committed to running at a championship level this season and we are going to do everything to give him that success.”

From the crew chief, Jeff Hensley…

“Kentucky is one of my favorite tracks. I think the track changes every time we go back. There are bumps in different places and they are difficult to work with, especially in turns one and two. The shock package will be very important this weekend because of those characteristics. Ron has a lot of success there and I’m looking forward to a good run this weekend because this Joe Denette Motorsports team absolutely deserves it!”

Max Gresham

No. 24 Made In USA Brand Chevrolet

Fast & Fun Facts:

Max Gresham will make his debut at Kentucky Speedway in this weekend’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) UNOH 225 on Thursday night, June 28 Although Gresham is making his NCWTS debut behind the wheel of the Made In USA Brand Chevrolet Silverado at Kentucky Speedway, the rookie tested an ARCA car at the 1.5-mile tri-oval in 2010 Gresham is up to seventh in the 2012 Sunoco Rookie of the Year battle

This Week’s No. 24 Made In USA Brand Chevrolet… The No. 24 Joe Denette Motorsports team will unload chassis No. 07 for this weekend’s UNOH 225 at Kentucky Speedway. This is the same chassis that Gresham piloted to a 22nd-place finish at Kansas Speedway in April and a 24th-place finish at Charlotte in May.

Gresham’s NCWTS Stats:

Starts:                  3 (2011)

7 (2012)

Laps:                    1429

Average Start:       23.3

Average Finish:      24.1

Rearview Mirror-Texas… Gresham overcame a crash in practice and a save of the season in just his first start at Texas Motor Speedway to finish 21st in the WinStar World Casino 200. The effort was the rookie’s best finish in his last four NCWTS starts.

Get to the Points… Gresham is up to 19th in the 2012 NCWTS driver point standings, just 34 points outside the top-15.

A Penny For Your Thoughts…

From the driver, Max Gresham… “I tested an ARCA car at Kentucky in 2010 but I’m not sure what to expect going there in a truck. I am fortunate to have a veteran driver like Ron (Hornaday) to lean on in these situations. He has a lot of success there and he will be able to give me a ride around the track and show me what to expect when I get behind the wheel on Thursday.”

From the crew chief, Terry “Richie” Snyder… “I’ve had a lot of success at Kentucky in the past. I won there with Johnny Benson in 2008 when I was a mechanic/fueler, so it’s a track I’ve had circled on the calendar since the beginning of the year. Aside from the challenge of going to a track for the first time in a truck, Max will also face the challenge of navigating around Kentucky’s infamous bumps. It will be my challenge to find the set-up that compliments the bumps the best.”
