Ready to Take the Green in the Bluegrass State: Dakoda Armstrong and the No. 98 EverFi Toyota team travel to Kentucky Speedway this weekend for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series UNOH 225 after nearly three weeks away from the track. Taking on one of the venues that has helped him produce some of the best results in his career, Armstrong is anticipating a similar outcome on Thursday night. The young Indiana native scored his best career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) finish at Kentucky last October, taking home ninth place honors. Armstrong predicts the track conditions will be far different due to the summer heat this time around, but knows that his No. 98 EverFi team has prepared his favorite Tundra to adjust to the conditions.

“Kentucky isn’t like the typical mile and a half track. It has a lot of bumps and character so instead of worrying about holding it wide open through the corners, you have to worry about how your truck is going to handle over those bumps when the tires wear. Even though it’s not smooth, this track is a lot of fun,” Armstrong explained. “We had pretty good grip the last time we were here with this truck, so I’m hoping we can make adjustments for the weather change and head towards the front this weekend.”

The first NCWTS practice session will kick off the one day show on Thursday, June 28 from 10:30-11:30 am, with final practice immediately following from 12:00-1:30 pm. Qualifying is set for 5:05 pm EST and the UNOH 225 green flag set to drop at 8:00 pm EST. Both the qualifying session and 150 laps of NCWTS racing action will be broadcast live on SPEED.

Special Appearances: Dakoda Armstrong will join teammates Johnny Sauter and Matt Crafton at the Toyota Pit Pass display in the fan midway on Thursday from 3-3:30 pm.  If you’re in the area, stop by to see all of the NCWTS Toyota competitors.

A Look Back at Texas: Dakoda Armstrong and the No. 98 EverFi team traveled to Texas Motor Speedway for the seventh race on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule hoping to find success with “Protect The Harvest” riding on the hood. Rain showers covered the speedway nearly all day Thursday, cancelling the qualifying session for the WinStar World Casino 400. By virtue of current owner’s points, Dakoda Armstrong took the green flag in his Tundra from the 19th starting spot and maintained position through the halfway point. Fighting through loose handling conditions from the start, an unscheduled pit stop on Lap 80 handed Armstrong a two lap deficit that he was able to overcome en route to an 18th place finish.

Chassis History:  The No. 98 EverFi team has chosen to prepare their most utilized chassis, No. 23, for this weekend at Kentucky. Armstrong raced this chassis at Rockingham, Charlotte and Texas this year, and took home a ninth place finish last year at Kentucky.

Last fall you scored your best career finish at Kentucky. What will be the keys to success this time around?

The biggest thing we’re going to fight is the track temperature; we had a great setup in the fall, but it’s going to be way hotter than it was then. We’re going to be looking for grip right off the bat because the truck handled really well last time when it was much cooler, so we’ll just have to take the setup we had and tweak on that. The 13 team was really good in the spring last year, so hopefully we can work together and get a find a good balance.
