Roush Fenway Looks for Elusive Brickyard Victory
Sprint Cup point lead in tact, Roush Fenway returns to the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway with its sights firmly set on the elusive task of winning the Brickyard 400 and bringing home another of NASCAR’s crowned jewels.

RFR’s Matt Kenseth continues to lead the Sprint Cup point standings by 16 markers. Greg Biffle is third; 40 points behind Kenseth. All-in-all an RFR driver has led the points for 17 of 18 weeks in 2012 and in 23 of the last 25 weeks.
Roush Fenway at the Brickyard
Roush Fenway has made a total of 76 starts at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, dating back to the inaugural event at the Brickyard in 1994. During that span the organization has posted 15 top-five and 29 top-10 finishes at IMS, while averaging a 16.9 finish and leading 167 laps.
RFR Brickyard Pole
David Ragan won Roush Fenway’s first pole at the famed Indianpolis Motor Speedway last season. RFR went on to place two cars inside the top 10 and lead 11 laps in the race.
Elusive Feat
Despite being close, Indianapolis is one of only two active tracks in the Sprint Cup circuit where Roush Fenway has yet to post a victory, the other being Chicagoland.
Almost…
Roush Fenway does have four runner-up finishes at IMS. Roush Fenway scored 11 runner-up finishes at Pocono before finally taking the checkered flag at the “Tricky Triangle” in 2005.
Inaugural Event
For the first time ever, the NASCAR Nationwide Series will race at the Brickyard. RFR has a solid history in inaugural NASCAR events. The organization won the inaugural Cup event at Las Vegas in 1998, as well as the inaugural Cup and Nationwide races at Texas Motor Speedway in 1997. In addition, Roush Fenway won the inaugural Nationwide races at Nashville and Elkhart Lake, as well as the first-ever NASCAR race at Kentucky in 2000.
RFR Celebrates “25 Winning Years”
Roush Fenway celebrates “25 Winning Years” in 2012. During that span, RFR has accumulated the most wins in NASCAR history with 303, and is the all-time race winner in both the Nationwide and Truck Series. During the season the team will highlight the performance, people, innovation and partners that have been the cornerstone of its performance.
