Activities, Music, Driver Appearances, Autograph Sessions Abound

Long Pond, PA (August 2, 2012) — The recently repaved Pocono Raceway produced one of the most exciting and competitive races of the 2012 NASCAR season during Pocono Raceway’s June 10, Pocono 400. As the crowd roared, Joey Logano edged out Mark Martin by less than one second to take the checkered flag. Every indication points to an equally exciting race this Sunday as the Pennsylvania 400 takes center stage for Pocono Raceway’s weekend of speed August 3-5.

On track, the stars of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will be joined by the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards for three days of all out racing action. Practice for all three series plus ARCA qualifying comprise Friday’s schedule. Qualifying for the Camping World Truck and the Sprint Cup Series kicks off the action on Saturday. The third annual Pocono Mountains 125, Truck Series race gets the green flag at 1:00PM followed by the 29th annual Pennsylvania 125, ARCA race. Children 12 and under are admitted free to the grandstands both Friday and Saturday. Gates open on Sunday August 5 at 9:00AM with the 39th annual Pennsylvania 400 set for a 1:00PM start. Children 12 and under are admitted at half-price to the Concourse grandstand on Sunday. (All times are subject to change)

Off-track there is something for every race fan. For kids the all new Kid’s Zone, located at the back of Fan Fair across from the merchandise trailers, includes games, fun events and special National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) events held daily from 8:30AM -12:30PM. Fan Fair displays include: Sprint, Chevrolet, National Guard, UAW, Air Force, Fan Vision, StockCar Racing Experience, the NASCAR Foundation and more! An autograph session for Camping World Truck Series drivers will be held in the Kid’s Zone on Friday at 1:00PM. Sprint Cup Series driver Regan Smith will conduct a Q & A session at 9:30AM Saturday at the Sprint Experience.

Infield ticket holders will be treated to Camping World Truck Series Q&A Sessions starting at 6:00PM Friday and concerts by Emily’s Toybox Friday evening and 40 lb.Head Saturday evening. The Barley Creek Wiffle Ball Field opens Friday and Saturday at 5:00PM and features a Home Run Derby with Pocono Raceway prizes for the most home runs each night. A fireworks show caps the infield activities Saturday evening.
