In making only his second start on the Tricky Triangle, Nelson Piquet Jr. would lead NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for the Pocono Moutains 125 at Pocono Raceway.
Piquet Jr. would lap the triangle in 53.688 seconds.
The Brazilian is looking for his first career truck victory in his 41st truck start. This season has been pretty solid as he currently sits ninth in points with three top fives and six top 10s in 10 starts. He finished 14th in his first start Pocono Raceway last year after qualifying third.
Rookie Ty Dillon would be second in practice, 0.098 seconds behind Piquet Jr. This marks Dillion’s first NASCAR start at Pocono, though he has previous experience in the ARCA Racing Series.
Matt Crafton was third, followed by Miguel Paludo and Joey Coulter.
Justin Lofton was sixth, followed by points leader Timothy Peters, Tim George Jr., James Buescher and Johnny Sauter. Denny Hamlin was 11th driving the Kyle Busch Motorsports truck.
