HAMPTON, Ga. (Aug. 16, 2012) – NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing will return to Atlanta Motor Speedway once again this Labor Day weekend, and while there are many reasons that you should be in attendance for the biggest Labor Day party in the USA, we’ve focused on five major reasons why you can’t afford to miss this year’s night racing triple-header at AMS:
Wild-Card Battle Will Run Through Atlanta
This year’s race for the Chase for the Sprint Cup features an intense fight for the two wild-card positions awarded to the two winningest drivers outside the top 10 in points following Richmond. With Atlanta’s AdvoCare 500 taking place the week before Richmond, the AdvoCare 500 will go a long way in deciding who will be in the playoffs and who will be preparing for 2013 during the season’s final 10 events. Currently, several drivers are in the running for the wild-card spots, and many of them are past winners at AMS, including defending race winner Jeff Gordon.
Affordable Entertainment for the Whole Family
With three nights of racing, fans can enjoy exciting action each day of the Labor Day weekend. And with affordable prices for all ages, the entire family can enjoy the holiday weekend together while hanging out at AMS. Kids 12 and under can attend Friday’s Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips 200 and Saturday’s NRA American Warrior 300 for free when accompanied by any adult with a General Admission ticket. There is no limit to the number of kids that an adult may bring. Then for Sunday’s AdvoCare 500, adult tickets start at just $39 while student tickets are $19. Plus families can take advantage of the FANtastic 4 Pack, giving fans four tickets in the Lower Elliott Grandstand, four Coca-Cola® beverages and four hot dogs for only $159. Groups can take in the race with dinner for an incredibly low price. NASCAR has always been a family sport, and AMS wants families to enjoy great racing at an affordable price.
We’ve Got More Than Just Racing at Atlanta
While the racing on the 1.54-mile high-banks of AMS will be the main attraction each night, there are plenty of other activities for fans to enjoy prior to the green flag dropping each night. The Fast Cars & Guitars pre-race concert, presented by Bad Boy Buggies will take place prior to driver introductions on Sunday, headlined by country music stars Montgomery Gentry. The Coca-Cola® Fan Stage will be located outside the fronstretch grandstand and will feature a variety of entertainment all weekend. With driver appearances from stars like Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick, question-and-answer sessions, musical performances and games, there will be something for everyone at the Coca-Cola® Fan Stage. Don’t forget about the souvenir trailers for each driver, the interactive displays from sponsors, the AMS Gift Shop, tailgating with friends and more. And at the conclusion of the race on Sunday, we’ll light up the night sky with a fireworks display to celebrate the winner’s triumph at AMS. With all this activity, it’s easy to see why Atlanta Motor Speedway hosts the biggest Labor Day party in the USA.
The All-New Taste of Coca-Cola® Concession Stand
This first of its kind concession stand, located outside section 123 of the Earnhardt Grandstand, will feature five unique twists on traditional concession food. Each food item is infused with a Coca-Cola® product and also features items produced in the state of Georgia, giving each food item a local twist and a taste of Georgia for visitors. The items include: Coke Zero® Braised Beef Tacos, Coca-Cola® Chili Dog, Fries with Coca-Cola® Dipping Sauce, Georgia Peaches with Sprite® Elephant Ear and Cherry Coke® BBQ Pork Sandwich with Vidalia Onion Rings.
Free Eats For Fans With AdvoCare 500 Tickets
While the racing action may end on Sunday night, the activities at the track continue all the way through Labor Day. Fans in attendance at Sunday night’s AdvoCare 500 can join the AMS staff for a free breakfast on Monday morning in the Nationwide Series garage. “Breakfast on Bruton” will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and those in attendance will be able to visit with Atlanta Motor Speedway President and General Manager Ed Clark to talk about their weekend at Atlanta.
With so much going on at AMS, whether on the track or in the midway, there are many reasons why each race fan should be at Atlanta this Labor Day weekend for three nights of racing and the biggest Labor Day party in the USA.
