Martinsville, Va. – (October 26, 2012) Midland, Texas native Tyler Young will take on the best that the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series has to offer on Saturday when the series takes to the 1/2-mile Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, Va. for the Kroger 200.
The 22-year-old will be making his fourth start in the series this weekend, having previously competed at Rockingham, Kentucky and Bristol. Tyler’s goal remains the same as it has been all year in the series – qualify and finish.
“We’re still learning about what it takes to run up front in this series,” Tyler said this week. “Every time out with our Randco Industries Chevrolet we seem to get a little bit better. We finished 20th at Bristol but ran a lot better than that. We just got stuck on the bottom too long with a truck that wanted to run up top. We qualified 13th there and that was a good confidence booster for us.”
Speaking of his first start at Martinsville, Tyler says he’s mighty anxious. “I am definitely pumped up to race there,” he smiled. “Our whole team is excited. We know our role right now in this series is to get in the show, race clean and finish all the laps because that’s how we’re going to keep getting better. But just to compete at Martinsville in a truck will be a thrill just like the other tracks were for us. I trust Cody Sauls and all these guys to give me what I need and we’re going to go do our best to do something better than we did last time out. If we do that, it will be a good day.”
