JAMIE MCMURRAY AND THE NO. 1 BASS PRO SHOPS/ ALLSTATE TEAM

Texas Recap: Following the two practice sessions on Saturday afternoon at Texas Motor Speedway, the No. 1 team felt that they had made progress on the race day set-up for McMurray. The biggest concern for Sunday’s 335-lap race might have been long green-flag runs similar to the spring race at Texas, where the caution was displayed only twice, including a 234 lap green-flag run to the end. Such was not the case on Sunday as the race was slowed by caution nine times for 49 laps. Fortunately, as the racing action heated up the McDonald’s team was able to avoid any mishaps. The team capitalized on the opportunity to make adjustments to the car under the caution periods and keep McMurray in contention for a lead-lap finish in the closing laps.

McMurray at Phoenix: McMurray has made 18 starts at Phoenix International Raceway. In those 18 starts, the driver of the No. 1 Chevrolet has accumulated one top-five, two top-10 finishes. McMurray has completed 5,294 out of a possible 5,686 laps (93%) with a total of 29 laps led. He has an average start and finish position of 16.2 and 21.8, respectively. His best start at the mile oval was second in 2008.

Pass and Go: During his last visit to Phoenix International Raceway in March, McMurray made 47 green flag passes.

Speedway Stats: At speedways (1-2 mile tracks) McMurray has 176 starts, collecting three poles, 20 top-five and 47 top-10 finishes. McMurray has led a total of 841 laps at speedways, including 29 laps led at Phoenix International Raceway.

Drop a Line at Bass Pro Shops: Jamie McMurray will make a special appearance at the Mesa, Ariz. Bass Pro Shops store this Thursday at 6:00 p.m. to meet fans and sign autographs. The Mesa Bass Pro Shops store is located at 1133 North Dobson Road Mesa, Ariz. 85201 (602-606-5600).

JUAN PABLO MONTOYA AND NO. 42 TARGET TEAM

Texas Recap: The HUGGIES® team qualified in the 25th position and focused on handling in the early laps of the 500-mile race. On lap 120, bad luck would strike as Montoya tried to avoid an incident in front of him and turned left into the grass where he hit something. The damage to the front of the car would be significant as the HUGGIES® Chevy came to the garage for repairs and returned to the track 56 laps down. When the checkered flag waved, Montoya was credited with a 34th-place finish.

Montoya at Phoenix: Montoya looks to make his 12th start this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway. In his previous 11 starts he has led 104 laps and earned one top-five, and two top-10 finishes. Montoya has completed 3,492 out of a possible 3,499 (99%). His best start was fifth previously this year; and he earned his best finish of fifth in 2010. The driver of the No. 42 Chevrolet has an average starting position of 20.3 and an average finishing position of 16.5 at Phoenix International Raceway.

Pass ‘Em All: During the last race at Phoenix International Raceway, Montoya completed 75 green flag passes.

Speedway Stats: In his NSCS career, Montoya has competed in 103 speedway races. In those events, he has accumulated two poles, nine top-five, 17 top-10 finishes, and has led 336 laps at track.

Race Day with Juan: Juan Pablo Montoya and Homestead-Miami Speedway teamed up this summer to offer fans a special package benefiting the Formula Smiles Foundation. The package includes a ticket to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship race, an exclusive Q&A session with Miami’s own Juan Pablo Montoya, pre-race pit pass, Juan Pablo Montoya commemorative hat and raffle prizes.
